A Little Quickie!

This is a quick post today...I'm knee deep in packing for our trip to Jamestown, NY to visit family. Meredith and I are flying, so wish us luck!! I've got posts scheduled, so I apologize for not visiting much in the next week or so. I also went to Copic Certification (Sally Lynn totally rocks!) this past weekend, so my blogging has been a little on the back burner! It's really funny to explain where you went and what you went for to non-stampers. This is the overwhelming response, "You went to get certified to use markers?" Huh? They just don't know, do they?
This card is one I made a little over a week ago for a dt call (no, I didn't make it...I think my record may now be somewhere in the ball park of 0-17...at least it's a perfect score!!) She's a cute stamp from Sarah Kay, and it was really fun to color her. I can't wait to color her again with my new techniques!! I hope you all have a nice time in the next week or so with family...I know I will. And, if you can't be with your family, I hope you have friends and others to fill the gap!
Card Details:
Stamps: Picnics of Daisies by Sarah Kay
Paper: Gina K Pure Lux; Lime Rickey by Basic Grey; Kiwi Kiss, Tangerine Tango by SU

Everybody's Going off the Deep End...

because they're stampin' for the weekend!! I know...I'm sure someone else has already busted out the Loverboy song for this challenge, but since it is my first time doing the Stampin' for the Weekend challenge, I can do it!! Quick post for me because I am headed out of town until tomorrow! While our girls were at Gymboree yesterday, Dawn and I made these pocket cards for the challenge. I used Baja Breeze and Kraft, and she used Pink Pirouette and Kraft. We both used the same plan and Paper Makeup Stamps.

Paper: Baja Breeze and Kraft by Stampin' Up
Ink: Baja Breeze by Stampin' Up; Memento Tuxedo Black

Here Comes the Bride

A wedding card with no recipient in mind...that doesn't always happen, but this time it did!
I usually make my cards for the fun of it, then I use them when I need them, so no worries! This is another triple challenge card. It is for the Midnight Madness Sketch #7, Color Throwdown #48, and for my first challenge at 365 Cards (Day 112). Color Throwdown is one of my favorites, and the Midnight Madness sketch is becoming one of my new favorites! I love a good challenge!
We have a little bit of a lazy morning this morning, so I can take my time to post. Blogger is doing weird things again, apparently for everyone. A very happy birthday wish to Katie Cotton of Paper Makeup Stamps!!

I'm still so shocked by all of the news this past week. Three highly iconic figures all die in one week. Incredible. I was a teenager during the 80s, so Michael Jackson was very much a part of my life. And, can I just say, his songs are really fun to tap dance to! I was a Charlie's Angels fan, too. So, a farewell to Ed, Farrah, and Michael.

Card Details:
Stamps: Mary by Paper Makeup Stamps
Paper: Pink Pirouette cardstock and DSP, Baja Breeze CS and DSP, and Kraft by Stampin' Up
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: Bride's Flowers; Love and Happiness Rubons by SU; Colorbok rhinestone stickers; CM oval cutters
Copics: R00, R01, R20, R21, E33, E40, E41, E57, BG72, G24, YG03

I love Purple!

Purple is my favorite color, and when I saw the challenge on Stamp Something from this week that is sponsored by PMS, I knew I had to use purple! The challenge is black and white and another color. Then, what a perfect opportunity to ink up my PMS stamps. Lucky for me, the PMS blog had a fabulous sketch this week, and Madelynn's Twinkling Tuesdays had a challenge to use bling. A ha moment...combine them all! I feel like such a multi-tasker when I can do that! I wish I could multi-task in more areas of my life! This is rather funny about this image...I've done it in purple before, and I didn't realize it until after I had already finished it! This time, I used Shimmerz on her shoes...who doesn't love sparkly shoes? Unfortunately, it doesn't show up as well in the picture, but I can live with it!

I'm so excited about this weekend! My friend Dawn and I get to travel to Durham for Copic certification. I know I have mentioned it before, but I am just so excited not only for the class but also to get away for just a little while. I also think we will stop at the Archivers in Raleigh because it is the closest one, and I've only been once. Luckily, they are open later on Saturdays.

Card Details:
Stamps: Lily by Paper Makeup Stamps
Paper: Lovely Lilac DSP and Basic Black by Stampin' Up
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: Royal Purple and Angel Wings Shimmerz; Little Yellow Bicycle Brads; Ribbon; Primas

FBW #63 I Really Want ICE CREAM!!

Hello, Flutter By girls!! I'm so happy to see you! It's been a crazy week, but I took some "me" time to create my card this week!! I was finally able to ink up one of my cards that I ordered from Faerie Art Song stamps...I can't believe that I got as many stamps as I did on one sheet! This one was especially cute, and it reminded me of the challenge this week! Fortunately, or unfortunately, in my moment of inspiration for the card this week, I somehow missed a detail! I for some reason read summery card, but the challenge was actually Spring Fever/create an outdoorsy card (a big thanks to Kimmie). Of course, I did the obligatory hand slap against the forehead, and a big "duh" came out! Well, let's see if we can work this out. I thought she was looking longingly at the ice cream cones. And, we all know that we have to go out in warm weather and outdoors to order an ice cream cone (even fairies!). Oh well, I tried!! And, she is a fairy, so I'm in the ball park! The one thing I loved about this is that she looks guilty when she is eyeing something, and what better to feel guilty about than ice cream!!

So sorry for the confusion. Please visit my other team members' blogs for more Flutter By inspiration. Wednesday is a day I look forward to because I have so many wonderful blogs to visit! When you make your creation, please be sure to link it on Danni's blog using Mr. Linky!

The set above the card is a new one that is going to be released by The Greeting Farm on July 1st, and Jessica Deidrich designed it for them. She is super excited, and she is offering it free to one lucky winner on her blog!! I love butterfly sentiments...what a perfect accent to all of our wonderful butterfly stamps!!
Card Details:
Stamps: Sweet Delights by Valarie Wade for Faerie Art Song Stamps; sentiment by Paper Makeup Stamps
Paper: Cupcake by Basic Grey; Pacific Point and Pixie Pink by Stampin' Up
Ink: Palette Noir
Accessories: SU oval punch; Marvy Uchida scalloped oval punch; ribbon; American Crafts pure glitter pen; Angel Wings Shimmerz
Copics: R00, R01, R20, RV14, E41, B04, YG13, Y11, Y21

Mojo 92 Pat the Dog

I finally inked up this adorable set from Our Craft Lounge. Pat the Bad Dog is hilarious! I would totally have a mishap like this, if I had a dog! In a way, it reminds me of a friend's dog who always digs her way out under the fence. I think that dog's name is Bisou, Bad Doggie, rather than just plain old Bisou! I used this week's Mojo Monday Sketch #92 for the card. I had to alter it a bit to get it to fit on the card, but that's ok!!

I was able to create this evening after Meredith and I had our little a la carte dinner...that's what we do when Daddy won't be home for dinner! After we were done, we both went to the craft room where she proceeded to make a mess. Oh well...I make a mess to, but my messes never seem as bad as hers!!
Card Details:
Stamps: Pat the Bad Dog by Our Craft Lounge
Paper: Rainbow Sherbet DSP, Tempting Turquoise, Pink Passion, and Gable Green by Stampin' Up
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: Ribbon; Nesties Scalloped Rectangles; Primas; Glitter Brads
Copics: E13, E18, E31, E33, E40, E57, W6, YG17, G24, RV14

Happy Father's Day

My post is a little late...we've been busy today!! We had a fairly leisurely morning, but I did have to bake a strawberry-rhubarb pie, and we left shortly after noon to go to my in-laws' house for lunch. My father-in-law loves strawberry-rhubarb pie, so my mother-in-law asked me to make it. I had a devil of a time finding rhubarb yesterday, but my hubby finally found some!! Yay!! Anyway, this is the card that I made for my father and my father-in-law. I always seem to make them the same card...hopefully they don't start comparing notes!! That would be a hoot!
Last night, (yes, we waited until the last minute) Meredith and I sequestered ourselves in the craft room to make a card for Daddy! We craft a lot together (or rather in tandem), but we had neglected to make this card. So, we picked Daddy's favorite color, green, and we went with it! I cut the paper, but she assembled and stuck everything down. She cut out the sentiment, and I actually let her use my copic markers to color the image. Oh my goodness, she was so excited and felt very grown up. She did a great job!! Not a bad card for a 4 year old!!

This is the inside of the card...I have to tell her what letter to write and generally where to put it, but this is all her (except the comma) doing. I don't have any other children to compare to, so I'm quite proud of her abilities!! She was so excited to give this to Daddy, and he loved it!

Card Details (Tie card):
Stamps: More Great Greetings (sentiment) by SU
Paper: Bashful Blue and Riding Hood Red DSP, Night of Navy and Riding Hood Red CS by Stampin' Up
Ink: Riding Hood Red
Accessories: sewing machine for stitching along outsides of card; buttons; CM oval cutting system

Stamps: Great Impressions; More Great Greetings (sentiment) by SU

A card and a quilt

Not a particularly enticing title, but I guess I am not the wordsmith today! It's hot here, and quite frankly, I'm a tad on the cranky side! I have a fun card to share with you all. I don't have a lot of baby sets, and I have one loose stamp from Bella that I already made shower cards with, so I had to think a little outside the box. I borrowed this image from my friend Dawn. It is a Dustin Pike for DRS Designs, and it is adorable. Why can't it be for a baby boy?

I've had three mommy friends all have babies in the last month, so we've been busy with meals, cards, etc. One of our friends, Katie, was the first. She didn't know what she was having, so I had to wait. I thought about making her present to be gender neutral, but that just wasn't going to cut it! So, I waited. Luckily, my sister was in town, and she helped immensely with this project (ok, she did most of it, but I am capable!) And, I had all of the fabric!!

The quilt is made almost entirely with 30s style fabrics, and it is mostly left overs from past projects. They are so fun...I just love them!! The blues and reds are fun together. You actually start the quilt by sewing alternating 5 1/2 inch blocks together in a 4 x 8 pattern (so, it's a rectangle), then you cut on the diagonal to make it into one large triangle and two small right triangles. Then, you sew them back together into a square, so the squares are on point. Confused? Well, it's not as difficult as it sounds.

Close up of some of the fabrics used!!
Card Details:
Paper: Wild Wasabi, Close to Cocoa, So Saffron by Stampin' Up; Printed paper by Creative Memories
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: SU oval punch; SU designer label punch; SU Rubon (chit chat); SU ribbon
Copics: E00, E13, E21, E25, E33, E31, E53, R20, G24, Y21, W2, W4, W6

Triple Threat!!

Welcome, I can sing and I do dance, a little, but I don't know if I'm ready for Broadway! So, it's not that kind of triple threat!! Well, I really stretched my stamping capabilities this morning! I went challenge-seeking this morning, and I landed on Splitcoast. Well, the limited supply challenge this morning is called International Flair (LSC225), and you need to use a foreign language somewhere on your card.
Guess what? I have all of two stamps/sets that have foreign language on it. I have a Merry Christmas in Swedish stamp (God Jul), and I have Carte Postale by Stampin' Up (I think there will probably be a lot of cards made with this set today!). I wasn't in the mood for Christmas, so I went with Carte Postale. Second hurdle was that I wanted to use the Color Throwdown #47 colors on it. Well, for some reason, those colors don't go with this stamp set, at least not in my mind. However, I was not going to back down from a challenge, so I went with it!! Here is what you have!! The sketch is this week's sketch on SCS, #233. Whoa, that's a lot for me...my brain can't take anymore!!
Card Details:
Stamps: Carte Postale by Stampin' Up
Paper: Pink Flamingo DSP, Tempting Turquoise, Cameo Coral and Kiwi Kiss by Stampin' Up
Ink: Tempting Turquoise
Accessories: Making Memories ribbon slide; Angel Wings Shimmerz; SU ribbon; Pearl stickers; Cuttlebug Embossing folder

Well, now it's a triple header!

I told you that I was on a Tilda roll lately, and you want to know the beauty of it all? They have almost exclusively been made with images that were sent to me! I'm so very fortunate to have some very generous friends!! This second card of the day was actually made from a sketch on a new blog that I found!! It is a Midnight Madness Sketch (#6), and it was fun! I actually had to make the card a little bigger to get the image I wanted, but it worked quite well!! Fun, fun, fun...never enough sketches to go around, in my opinion! You have to check out this challenge blog...there are cash prizes, and if they reach a certain number of followers by the end of June, the cash prize will double!! That is pretty cool and fun!!

On a side note, in our travels to Pittsburgh this past weekend, I discovered that our hotel was only 2 miles from a Pat Catans craft store. Holy moly...I think I hit crafters' nirvana!! Nesties for $14.97...I would be so in trouble if I lived close by to that store. I couldn't believe the fabulous bargains to be had and all the different crafts they have there. Even their art department was great! (No copics, but nobody's perfect...LOL!)

Card Details:
Stamps: Tilda with Sunflower; Designer Label by SU
Paper: Ambrosia by Basic Grey; Going Gray and Tangerine Tango by Stampin' Up
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: Designer Label Punch by SU; May Arts, SU, Basic Grey and If it's Paper ribbon; K & Company brad; Bling It pearls by Basic Grey
Copics: R00, R01, R20, G24, Y11, Y08, YR02, YR04, YR09, E13, E25, E27, E33, E57

A Tilda Double header!!

I know, it's probably a little strange to mix baseball and Tilda, but that is the snappy title that came to mind! I've been making a lot of Tilda cards in the past few days in order to send them to 7 different people in my Raining groups on the Magnolia-licious yahoo group. It's been fun, but you will be seeing a few Tildas in the next few days!! Aren't you excited? The above card is also for this week's Madelynn's Twinkling Tuesday sketch (MTTSC27)...a fun sketch, but a little bit tricky! I had fun with the colors...I'm going to miss the in colors this year, but at least I was able to stockpile some of the paper!!

Card Details:
Stamps: Tilda with Hearts by Magnolia
Paper: Raspberry Tart DSP, Rose Red, Cameo Coral, and Kiwi Kiss by Stampin' Up
Ink: Not sure (this was an image I received)...I would guess one of the big three (Palette, Adirondack or Memento)
Accessories: CM Oval cutting system; Royal Red Shimmerz; Rhinestone stickers; Primas; Brads; SU Ribbon (Kiwi Kiss and Rose)
Copics: R00, R20, RV11, RV34, RV29, Y21, E33

My second Tilda in the lineup, and I just couldn't resist this paper...Sweet Always by Stampin' Up. I got a little crazy buying the designer paper from Stampin' Up, but sometimes it is really nice to have things coordinate. I store my SU DSP in the Cropper Hopper vertical files in their original packaging. I just write, in Sharpie, the colors that coordinate with each paper pack on the plastic, and it is quick, quick, quick when I need something! I guess that is my little pearl of wisdom today.
Also, how many of you do this? When you have used up your pop dots...do you cut the remaining shell part up to use also? I can't stand to waste that stuff!!

Card Details:
Stamps: Pink Tilda with Rose
Paper: Sweet Always DSP, Rose Red, Regal Rose, and Wild Wasabi by Stampin' Up
Ink: Unknown...another donated image
Accessories: Primas; Brads; SU ribbon (Wild Wasabi)
Copics: R00, R20, B12, B14, RV11, R85, 0, E53, G24, E41

FBW 62 Tilda is Rockin' the Wings!

Welcome!!! It's Flutter By Wednesday time!! This is the 62nd installment...whoa!! We have a guest designer this week, and she is Mary Giemza. Please visit her blog and leave her some love today! In addition, our featured team member this week is Christine. You will love her beautiful cards, so visit her as well!! Our challenge this week is actually an open one, so bring out your butterflies and fairies and have a flutter by day! When you finish, we would love to see your creations. Danni has Mr. Linky over on her blog...just give us a direct link to your card so that we may visit as well!
I was so excited to finally ink up this Tilda (she reminds me of my daughter who loves to put on butterfly wings!)...I can't believe that I have had her for as long as I have, and she hasn't seen ink. I also used a new stamp pad...Palette Noir...to ink her up with. It is a nice one, and OCD me now has Adirondack, Memento, and Palette in her collection. We were talking the other day about how weird it is to even bust out the SU black now...it really is purple! YIKES! Sorry, I love Stampin' Up, but the black is purple. Oh well, I digress. I think I'm just chatty today!
I really toned down the embellishments on this card because I really wanted the image and designer paper to do the talking! I had fun coloring this image, as usual. There is just something soothing about sitting at my desk and coloring. I was getting very frustrated with a certain child who just couldn't stop whining today, and coloring was all the therapy I needed! Luckily, she snapped out of it, and I kept my cool! I'm also counting down the days until I go to Copic certification...I don't think I've ever looked as forward to a class as I am this one! CAN'T WAIT!!!
Card Details:
Stamps: Tilda as Butterfly by Magnolia
Paper: Real Red by Stampin' Up; Designer Paper by Me and My Big Ideas
Ink: Palette Noir
Accessories: Sky Blue Shimmerz; SU ribbon
Copics: R00, R20, B12, B14, R29, N5, Y08, Y11, Y21, E33

Ah, Mondays!!

Mondays are often a conflicting time for me. We are usually so busy on the weekends that Monday is a tiring day back in the groove. And, we just came off driving 9 hours to Pittsburgh on Friday, a reunion on Saturday, and driving home 9 hours on Sunday. Add in poor sleep and poor eating, and you may have a disaster on your hands, at least in the life of a 4 year old. HOWEVER, I love Mondays because of Mojo Monday...I always look forward to it because it sort of kick starts my creativity. Then, I look forward to the other days of the week because I have a multitude of other fun challenges like Color Throwdown during the week! Today is no exception! I was actually able to combine two of my favorites: Mojo Monday #91 and Color Throwdown #46. LOVE them both!!

And, I can't believe that I have never had a Lily stamp from Pink Cat Studios...have I been living under a rock? My friend Heather sent me some images, and I couldn't wait to color them. Thank you, Heather. And, I'm sure Pink Cat Studios will thank you because I believe I will be making an order shortly!!

Card Details:
Stamps: Lily at the Beach by Pink Cat Studios; sentiment by Whiff of Joy
Paper: Delicate Dots, So Saffron, Certainly Celery, Brocade Blue and Bashful Blue by Stampin' Up

Rockin' Robin...Tweet, tweet, tweet!

Meredith had her dance recital this past week, so I thought it would be fitting to put a picture of both her and the card I made for her teacher, Miss Jill. The tap routine they did was to Rockin' Robin. However, every time Meredith said it, she said the name of the song was Baskin Robbin. Too funny!! I swear I don't take my kid out for ice cream that much! This is a cute little image from High Hopes, and I couldn't wait to use it! Another funny from the recital was the tattoo that Meredith had on her arm...a skull and crossbones (of course the mouth was heart-shaped) and it made her look like one tough chick! My sister really enjoyed being able to come and see her in action!
The rubon says, "Memories begin with this." I thought it only fitting that it be in the shape of an arrow pointing to the lil tapper! I can't wait until we can take mother and daughter tap classes!!
Card details:
Stamps: Lil' Tapper by High Hopes
Paper: Pink Flamingo DSP, Basic Black, and Real Red by Stampin' Up
Ink: Adirondack Pitch Black
Accessories: Primas; Stampendous rhinestone stickers; Royal Red shimmerz; SU rubons; Red and clear rhinestone bling stickers

Tilda Dreams

Wow, two days in a row...I think that my mojo is back!! I made this last night because I was up at an insane hour of the night. I started watching a movie, The Reader, and I had to finish it through to the end. Note to self: don't start watching a movie at 11:00 pm!! I finally was able to play along with the Copic Color Challenge, and this one is for #17. The colors were RV11 (pink), BV04 (blue berry), and Y23 (yellowish beige). I didn't have the last one, but I substituted something as close as I could. Her tights came out a little mottled because I wanted to lighten the BV04, so I used the blender pen all over, then I went back and touched up with the BV04 again. I'm still learning, but everything up till now is self-taught. I can't wait for the Copic certification class at the end of the month!!
I love the paper that I used in this card...Poppyfinch by Memory Box. It was perfect, and it set an outdoor scene for me!
Card Details:
Stamp: Tilda by Magnolia stamps
Paper: Poppyfinch by Memory Box; Lovely Lilac and Wild Wasabi by Stampin' Up
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: MS butterfly punch; Pixie Dust Blingz by Shimmerz; Rubons
Copic: E41, E53, E57, RV11, RV34, BV04, 0, R00, R20

It's a Two Challenge Kind of Day-FBW61 and MOJO90

Hello, ladies!! Here I am apologizing again for being so sparse in my posting. Things are starting to settle down a bit, but I still feel buried! Today is another busy day, but I'm hanging in there! We are leaving this Friday morning to drive to Pittsburgh for my husband's family reunion. It will be a quick trip, but Meredith is looking forward to going to play with and meet her cousins! I haven't been stamping as much, but this card got me back in the groove. I have also been coloring a bunch of Magnolia images because I have 7 raining cards to make this month...lots and lots! So, I bet you'll be seeing lots of Magnolia cards!! Anyway, on to the real reason you came!!

Flutter By Wednesday #61 is here!! Our challenge this week is to use a butterfly and/or fairy on a card in conjunction with any sketch of our choosing! I chose this week's Mojo Monday sketch #90. I did take a little creative license with it, but that is the beauty of a sketch...do what you want with it! Go to Danni's blog to see all the creations and post your card through Mr. Linky. We have a featured team member this week, and it is Lelia. She has such beautiful creations on her blog and a kind spirit...please leave her some love! And, the rest of the team, listed on the left side of my blog would truly appreciate your love...they all really knocked it out of the park last week, so I can't wait to visit everyone and see! Wednesdays are kind of like Christmas once a week!!

Smiling Willow

Sorry that I have been a little MIA this past week!! Meredith has had some overlapping activities (spring ending, summer beginning), and I have been running hither and yon with her. Today is her dance recital, and it is the last activity for this past year. Now, she just has summer camp! My sister is also visiting, so we have been doing one of our favorite activities: shopping! It's exhausting! Also, we've been working on some sewing projects, so I haven't even made a card in the past few days! This card was for the Stampin' Out Alzheimers challenges from last week. I had to use one of my new Whiff of Joy stamps...she is so gorgeous! Enough rambling...it's a quick post today!

Card details:
Stamps: Willow in the Summer Breeze by Whiff of Joy; sentiment from Happy Chef by the Greeting Farm
Paper: Pink Flamingo, Real Red, and Tempting Turquoise by SU

Butterflies and Fairies...Oh My!!

Hello Flutter By lovers!!! It's Wednesday, my favorite day of the week!! This week's theme is basically anything goes...use a butterfly and/or a fairy and let loose!! I decided to use both this week, so I hope you enjoy the summery colors! We are already in the trenches of summer with near 90 degree temps! Though the calendar may not say it's summer, it is here! We have a treat over on the Danni's blog today...our guest designer is the legendary Cindy Haffner!! Well, she's legendary to me!! Also, our featured design team member this week is the uber talented Chris! She is one of my stamping idols, so you have to cruise over to her blog and check out all of her amazing creations! Lastly, we want to give a huge, wild, loud welcome back to Kimmie! Awesome to have her back!

Thanks for stopping by today...I really appreciate it, and I do read all of your comments!!
