Recessed Window - Sugar Creek Hollow Fabulous Friday

A little pomp and circumstance for you today! Today is Fabulous Friday at Sugar Creek Hollow, and there is a glorious freebie today!! My Flutter By team mates and fans will love it! Check it out HERE. Our challenge this week was to create a recessed window card for you today, and I always love black, white and red. I was able to dust off come brads and neglected prima flowers!!
Last night we attended a wonderful graduation ceremony for our daughter. She is graduating from preschool and heading off to kindergarten in the fall. I will admit that I got a little choked up tonight...it was so amazing to see how much they have grown. And, they played "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" with hand bells. Well, that was just the ultimate to me...I loved it!!
When we put her to bed, she just started sobbing saying, "Am I ever going to see my teachers again?" That was a difficult question to answer. She bonded so much with her teachers, and I honestly think that God handpicks preschool teachers, and he did a glorious job with her teachers. I'm said that I won't see them anymore, too. Change is hard.
I hope you enjoy the graduation card, and don't forget to grab the freebie image at Sugar Creek Hollow. My team mates have some truly remarkable, knockout cards this week...give them a look!!
Card Details:
Stamps: Graduation by Sugar Creek Hollow
Paper: My Minds Eye DSP; Real Red and Basic Black by SU
Accessories: Nestabilities; primas; brads; CM circle cutter

FBW111 A Double Whammie!!

I made this card first with the butterfly (there is absolutely no stamping on this card!), but I wasn't sure about it. The challenge this week at Flutter By Wednesday is an open one, but don't forget to use a butterfly, fairy, and/or an angel on your card! We are taking the month of June off at Flutter By Wednesday, but we will be back in July ready and raring to go, so don't forget about us!!

Fabulous Friday from Sugar Creek Hollow - Favorite Digi Day

Material Girl--that is the name of the perfect paper that I found this past weekend! Our challenge this week at Sugar Creek Hollow was to use our favorite digital image. Well, I've been wanting to use this image (Dressmaker Form and Shears) for so long, and it was what we might call the Perfect Storm...a sketch, an image, the right paper, the right ribbon! Tracy from Sugar Creek Hollow made this wonderful crinkly ribbon that is hand-dyed. I couldn't wait to finally use it, and I imagined it draped on the dressmaker form. And, the rest just kind of came together. Then, when I saw the sketch this week at Midnight Madness (MMSC54), I knew it had to be! The buttons sealed the deal!!

My team mates would love for you to visit them and leave a comment!! You can find their links on the left hand side of the blog!

FBW110 - A Flowery Fairy

Flowers, flowers, EVERYWHERE! Our theme this week at Flutter By Wednesday is to use flowers on your card along with your fairy, butterfly, or angel. Kris suggested this fun theme!! I received this image from a friend (thanks Danni), and for the life of me, I can't remember the name of it. I'm glad that I found her because the size of her wings was perfect, and I love how they popped up on the card. I used Pixie Dust Shimmerz Blingz on them, and the sparkle is just right. The color of the prima flowers looked much better at 9 pm last night than it does in the light of day, so I apologize for that!! The designer paper is from American Crafts, and I purchased it from Paper Source, a fun store we have here in Charlotte!

FBW109 - It's a Paper Piecing Party!!

Well, not a party per se, but it is Wednesday! And, you all know what that means!! It's Flutter By time, and every time we bust out the fluttery things, it's a party! And, it's my birthday today, so there must be a party, right? Well, we had the cake last night, but that is a whole other story!

This week, we were challenged to use paper piecing on our projects. But, don't forget to include a butterfly, fairy or angel on your creation! That is the most important part!!

My Magnolias have been so neglected lately, so I knew that I had to bring out Tilda dressed in her butterfly regalia! I just love this stamp! It was a little fussy to paper piece, but I like the way she turned out! Unfortunately, my bow is a little lackluster...my fingers weren't working with the Bow Easy all that well! Grosgrain can be a little tough, but I think we can handle it. I STILL LOVE MY BOW EASY! There, I said it!

My teammates would love for you to stop by and say hi! And, we want to see your creations...just link them up HERE so that we can stop by!
Card Details:
Stamps: Tilda as Butterfly by Magnolia
Paper: Neighborhood pack, Melon Mambo, and Bermuda Bay by SU
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: Ribbon by SU; Nestabilities; Cuttlebug Embossing folder; Copic markers; Spica glitter pens; Bow Easy

Two challenges comin' at ya!!

The above card is for the Diedrich Dare this week with a lovely sketch from Kaitlyn. I used an image that a friend sent me from the Pure Innocence line from MFT. I can't believe that it took me this long to use it!! They are adorable!

The second card is from the Because I said So challenge over at the Club Anya blog. The idea was to have your child pick all of the supplies for your card. Well, that could've been very interesting, but Meredith did a pretty good job! She just loves this card!!

My supplies from Meredith...we had to nix the corner punch due to a minor mishap!! Don't ask!!
Sorry for the quick post...I'm under the wire!! Cheers!

Today is Fabulous because it is Friday, and we have treats from Sugar Creek Hollow for you! First of all, Sugar Creek Hollow, the store, is now officially a dot com!! We still have the blog to highlight our work, but the store will be separate! And, Tracy has added the most delicious ribbon that is hand-dyed! You don't want to miss it!

Today, our challenge was to make an easel card for Mother's Day. I have used this very lovely new image from Sugar Creek Hollow of a jam jar and cover! The berries in the corner are a past freebie and so is the wonderful sentiment!
Did I mention how in love with the Bow Easy , which you can buy at I Heart Papers, that I am? I have always struggled with bows, so as soon as I figured out how to use it, I was in business!! I'm quite proud of myself!!

My team mates also have some incredible new projects to show you...take a gander!!

FBW108 Flutter By Wednesday meets Meljen's Designs

Howdy, Flutter By Wednesday Fans!! How y'all doin'? Sorry, I couldn't help the drawl in my writing! Today we have a wonderful little surprise at Flutter By Wednesday...we have a sponsor. I tripped across the Meljen's Designs Etsy shop a few months ago, and I was hooked by the cuteness!! They have some amazing digital images, and I'm blown away by the detailing. Well, the team was treated to two images, and I just couldn't resist using both of them! So, I have two cards for you today! The above is using an adorable little fairy, and she was so big when I printed her out that I had to abandon my plan for a scalloped edge! Not a big deal because I love the bling even better! Make sure you hop on over to the Flutter By Blog...there may just be a chance for you to get your hands on a Meljen's Design prize!

This next card took a bit of a different slant for me also! I started with the image, and I knew I wanted to color it, but I also didn't want a white background. So, I printed the image first on white, second on the So Saffron. I colored the butterfly on white, cut it out (yes, I cut the small parts on the bottom), and I popped it up on the image on the So Saffron. Then, I highlighted the flying lines (is that what they are called?) with a blue Spica glitter pen. From there, I used the Nestability to cut out the image in yellow. I cut the next biggest size, and I turned it a bit. It is a simple layout, but the bling coupled with the two different borders and ribbon really helped to make it stand out. I love how the color combo came out!!
I would love for you to visit my team mates' creations...they are true masters of their craft. I love to see what they come up with each and every week!
Card Details:
Card One:
Paper: Basic Black, White, and Melon Mambo by Stampin' Up
Accessories: Copic markers (E00, E01, RV21, RV23, RV25, RV29, E41, E31, E33), Gold Glimmer Shimmerz, Martha Stewart bling stickers; CM circle cutting system

Paper: Sweet Pea DSP by Stampin' Up; So Saffron, Garden Green, and Pacific Point CS by SU
Accessories: Copic markers (B21, B24, B26, G12, G14); rhinestone stickers; Nestabilities; Martha Stewart Cornice border punch; EK Success border punch; ribbon by May Arts;

Scrapbook Pal Design Team Entry

Happy Tuesday!! It's beautiful here in North Carolina (a little on the humid side, but I can deal)! I'm gearing up for a busy month of holidays, birthdays and anniversaries! The above card was made entirely from the Cricut. The branch frame and flowers are from the Home Decor cartridge, and the "MOM" is from Beyond Birthdays. In addition, I used Glue Dots and my new ATG gun to make everything stick together. All of these items can be found at Scrapbook Pal. com. A wonderful perk about ordering from them is that they have free shipping on orders over $25...we don't find that very often in the paper crafting world!! I first encountered their awesome prices when I shopped at their booth at a CKC Convention in Charlotte. Love at first savings!! They are having a design team call, and this is my tryout. Be gentle!!

My second project is using my favorite subject...Meredith. This is her fall picture from preschool, and I just love it! It needed to have the proper "frame", and it was fun to create. I again used the fabulous Home Decor cartridge from Cricut, my ATG gun, Nestabilities, Bazzill cardstock, Divine Swirls Cuttlebug Embossing folder and Gelly Roll pens. All of these items can be found at Scrapbook Pal.

I wanted to give a little close up to my bow. I finally got my hands on a Bow Easy...for someone as bow challenged as I am, it was a God send. This is actually a triple bow...I promise I didn't show off!!

I love this sentiment from the Cricut cartridge. Sometimes, I have issues with something this intricate, but I simply used my exacto knife to take out the last few pieces, and VOILA!! I thought this Nestability truly complementing the designer paper by My Mind's Eye in the background. Thanks for taking a peek today...I hope you enjoy the rest of your week!
