FBW160 Through the Craft Room Door

Happy Wednesday...we are back from our one week hiatus at Flutter By Wednesday! This week we have an open challenge, but we are being sponsored by a wonderful online publication called Through the Craft Room Door, and you could win a one year's subscription! If you would like to join us, don't forget to include a butterfly, fairy, and/or angel on your creation! Upload HERE for your chance to win!

I dug this image out the other day, and I was determined to finally use it! I actually already had the hair and skin colored. I haven't colored a lot of African-American skin and hair, but I decided to try it once upon a time. I liked it, so I thought, why not create a card around it? Well, here it is!

Card Details:

Stamps: Summer Fairy Finna by Mo Manning

Paper: Eva by Basic Grey; Pink Pirouette by Stampin' Up

Ink: Creative Memories Precious Elements silver pen

Accessories: Copic markers; Sizzix die for flourishes; rhinestone by Bo Bunny; Spica glitter pens for wings

Paper Pretties Monday Whatnots - Tuesday Edition

Welcome, welcome!! We are taking a three week break from Paper Pretties, but we will be back on the 18th of July with a new team in place and brand new images! Today, we were able to use any of the images that we have premiered thus far! I always loved this little guy in the teacup, so I knew that I had to use him on my card this week! It's a really simple layout with all of my favorite colors! I love pink and purple, so using them together was a no-brainer. The pop of bright pink was a surprise, but I like it! I used up some ribbon scraps and made my loopy little embellishment in the corner!

Thanks for stopping by today! Catch you tomorrow for my Flutter By Wednesday card!

Woodware USA Challenge #33 - Patriotic Colors and/or Theme

This week we have a choice between a patriotic color combo or a patriotic theme. I chose the color combo, and it so reminds me of summer! I used the fun set from Woodware USA called Sail Away, and my sentiment is from another Woodware USA set -- Ted in the Garden.

I find that I can get just about any sentiment from my Woodware USA sets, and they fit perfectly in a lot of my SU punches and small Nestabilities! Yay for me!

If you would like to join us this week, please visit the Woodware USA blog HERE for more details! Thanks for stopping by today!

Mature Ladies Have All the Fun!!

Our challenge this week over at Art Impressions was to use a handmade flower. Well, I had the handmade flower, I just needed to build the card around it! Have you done that? Had one small element, and you need to build the card around it? Usually, I just start with the colored image...this week a little backwards! If you would like to join the challenge, please visit HERE. My card above uses the stamp called Out to Lunch in the Golden Oldies collection. The paper is June Bug by Basic Grey.

The second card is from last week that I forgot to upload...how could I forget that? This looks like a super fun road trip, doesn't it? I can only imagine the bad behavior!! This image is called Shoppers Front (this is part of one of AI's front and back images), and it is also from the Golden Oldies collection. Of course, I had to put Mimi on the front in honor of our Mimi! The paper in the above card is from Stampin' Up.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Paper Pretties Monday Whatnots, Tuesday Edition

2nd post today -- please scroll down for Party Time Tuesdays
Grab your sunglasses because this little guy is seriously bright!! We have two fun new images designed by ARTish for Paper Pretties, and this little cutie is aptly called Wade! I just love him clutching his little beach ball! I colored him with Copics and cut him out...always relaxing to me, well, most of the time! I mounted him on Basic Grey paper that is cut with Nestabilities. On the black frame, I used my Creative Memories Precious Elements silver pen to doodle a bit. I knew that it needed something, so I stamped the sentiment directly on the yellow paper. Big mistake, it was so crooked. So, to mask it, I had to use my trusty oval and scalloped oval punches. It wasn't my favorite, but at least I didn't have to start from scratch!

My little lamentation...I haven't received a comment on one of my Paper Pretties cards in a month. Are they that bad or are they getting lost in the shuffle? Hmmm...perhaps everyone is as swamped as I am!

Thanks for stopping by today!

J'adore le temps parti mardi! PTT21

Oui...I'm gettin' all Frenchy with y'all! Yes, how do you like that little turn of phrase? I had to get into the spirit of things with this fun stamp from our sponsor this month -- Icopic.com. In addition to their vast array of all things Copic, they also carry stamps, and this little cutie is called Pierre, and he is designed for the company Your Next Stamp. He is adorable! We also have this fun Washi tape to work with, so I just went for it! I combined some scraps with the tape and our wonderful sketch by Stacy this month!

If you would like to join us in creating the sketch below, please visit HERE for more information and inspiration!

Woodware USA Challenge #32 - a sketch from Kerry

Welcome to another challenge at Woodware USA...this week we have a sketch seen below!! To enter your card and see other DT samples, please visit HERE! We would love to have you join us for this week's challenge.

I made this card the other day, and I actually used some of the paper from the "new" in colors by Stampin' Up. Well, seeing as how they came out a year ago, I'm a little behind on what is "new"! 30 minutes before we are to leave to go and have a Father's Day dinner with my husband's family, I ask him if he bought his dad a card. Well, he hadn't, so I used the above card as a template, and I made one in under 20 minutes! I was proud of myself, but I didn't have time to take a picture of it. Just image a more masculine version using the leaves from the set Daisy Squares!

Card Details:

Stamps: Daisy Squares and Garden Greetings by Woodware USA

Paper: Blushing Bride DSP; Blushing Bride CS and Elegant Eggplant CS by Stampin' Up

Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black

Accessories: Martha Stewart border punch; rhinestones; Silver Creative Memories pen

I love the two images that we had to work with this week! See below for Tommy and Frank by ARTish for Paper Pretties! If you would like to see the other samples for these cuties, please visit HERE!

I lost my beloved cloud template...it just went poof in my craft room! I have no idea where it went, so I had to finally try one of the Copic cloud tutorials that I had seen on my blog travels. Now, this is my first attempt, but I don't hate it, so that is a plus! The tutorial can be found HERE if you are interested!

Woodware USA Challenge #31 - Happy Birthday!

It's Happy Birthday time at Woodware USA! This week, our challenge is to make a birthday card -- that shouldn't be too hard, right? If you would like to join us, please visit HERE for more details! We can't wait to see what you come up with!

My card uses a fairly new pack of paper from Basic Grey - Life of the Party. I loved the woodgrain on the brown, so I had to use it. I stamped the branch image on Kraft paper, then I stamped the owl and sentiment on white, colored it, and popped it up on the panel. It is a simple layout, but I like the way it came out! The images come from this wonderful set -- Owl Greetings by Woodware USA. I just love the talking and thinking bubbles that are in the set. Thanks for stopping by today!

Art Impressions - Monochromatic Challenge #19

Let's Do Lunch!! These lovely ladies can only be doing one thing -- gossiping!! Or else swapping doctor stories! I was asked to be the guest designer at ART Impressions this month, and it is fun to step out of my box and use some fun stamps!! They have a challenge each week, and the prizes are awesome!

This week's challenge is to make your card monochromatic. Well, the few Art Impressions images that I have are very detailed, so that posed another challenge in my mind. How do I make it monochromatic. Well, I decided to pull a little trick and only coloring a few pieces of the image in the color that I had selected. Who doesn't love pink?

If you would like to join us this week, please visit HERE to upload your card and see other fabulous creations!
