FBW178 Giving Thanks

Hello Fluttery fans--it's Wednesday, and we have a beautiful challenge for you this week! We are giving thanks and showing gratitude. When I saw this little beauty, I knew that yellow and blue were going to be my go to colors! I also finally used my large butterfly border from EK Success...it is a beauty!

The designer paper is unknown because it was in my scrap pile! The cardstock is Pacific Point and Daffodil Delight by Stampin' Up. I used a Viva Decor glitter pen in sapphire for my accents...I just love them. I don't think I will ever need to buy pearls to stick on again! The sentiment is from Woodware USA, and the main image is from Sweet Pea! I love it, and this is the first time it has been inked!

If you would like to join us this week at Flutter By Wednesday, please visit HERE for more details and to upload your card. Don't forget your fairy, angel, or butterfly--I've got two of those covered this week! Thanks for stopping by!

FBW135 Merry Christmas Break!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, Flutter By Wednesday fans! This is our last post for 2010 so that we can take a little holiday break! Our challenge this week is open, so upload your card HERE if you want to play along. You don't want to miss our first post of 2011 with a blog hop happening on January 5th! Don't forget about us because we will be back!

Danni is looking for a few talented paper crafters to join us on the FBW team, so check out the DT call HERE for more information! We are saying goodbye to our awesome guest designer, Erin. She has so much talent...stop by and say "hi" to her! And, I'm so excited to welcome back Kristie to our team. She is a former member of the team who came back to join us again. It's been so much fun for me to work with Kristie on both the Flutter By team and as part of her awesome design team at her challenge blog, Party Time Tuesdays. Give her a warm welcome back!

I borrowed this Sweet Pea stamp from my friend, Dawn because she has them all! I knew I wanted to get a little extra fussy for this card because it was our last before the "break." She is a beauty. I used the Sizzix Poinsettia die for the background...boy, was that a lot of cutting!

Thanks for stopping by today, and don't forget to catch the blog hop on January 5th!

Card Details:
Stamps: Sweet Pea
Paper: Mistletoe and Pear by Basic Grey; Riding Hood Red,
Garden Green, Cherry Cobbler, and Basic Black by Stampin' Up

FBW106 Mercy Me...It's a Sketch!!

Happy Day today!! Can you believe that we are up to the 106th challenge of Flutter By Wednesday? It blows my mind, and I can't believe how April is nearing to a close already! Tomorrow, my hubby and I are going to see Bon Jovi in concert. I've been a fan from the beginning, but this will be my first time to see them!! I can hardly wait! Sorry, I digress...hehehe!

This week we have a sketch from the uber-talented Mercy Kerin!! I love her sketches, and I play along with her Tuesday sketches whenever I can! Lately, we have been spending so much time on landscaping that I haven't had a lot of craft time! Just remember to include a butterfly, fairy or angel on your card. I used the wonderful Sweet Pea stamp and my Green at Heart paper from Basic Grey that arrived in the mail this week. I love the details...the coloring can seem a bit daunting, but I work in stages. I color the skin, walk away, color the hair, walk away, then, I come back and color the rest of her body, and, you guessed it, I walk away. It seems like it takes me all day to color it, but I really liked the result. The picture doesn't do it justice and it doesn't pick up the sparkle from the Spica pens, but it will do!

Meredith also wanted to play this week...her page is loosely based on the sketch. Her coloring and cutting skills get better every day. She just loves using my "special markers." My husband hopes she develops as much of an interest in golf so they can do stuff together!! I told him to pull up a chair to the craft table, but I think he's too intimidated!

Sorry, I'm a little chatty today! I hope you are all well and that you will join us this week. All you need do is link up your creation HERE. Don't forget to check out the amazing talent from my fellow design team members on the left sidebar! Ciao!!

A Week of Firsts...Sweet Pea in Emerald

Yesterday, it was my first easel card. Today, it is my first card using a Sweet Pea stamp. Now, I get it. I know what everyone is raving about. This image is fabulous! I had so much fun coloring her, and her expression just holds so much mystery. All of the elements came together on this one for me, and I enjoyed creating it. I love it when that happens...

She is for the Saturday Spotlight challenge (SSHP23) which is to make a birthday card in your birthstone color. Mine is May, so the birthstone is emerald. Also, she reminds me of all the lush landscape of spring! The Crafty Catz Challenge #24 is for a spring card.

Card Details:
Stamps: Sweet Pea
Paper: Chocolate Chip by SU; Marcella by K paper pad
Ink: Palette Noir
Accessories: May Arts leafy vine ribbon; Spica glitter pens; Copic markers; Martha Stewart punches; Prima flowers
