FBW150 Celebrate our Sesquicentennial!!

How is that for your big word of the day? How often do we get to use the word sesquicentennial? Woohoo! Flutter By Wednesday is celebrating their 150th challenge, and we have some amazing surprises for you! Check HERE for more exciting details!

Now, on to the "OOPS" section! Remember the old adage, "do as I say, not as I do"? Well, that would apply today! My brain doesn't seem to be working, and I didn't follow the challenge guidelines. Our challenge this week is to use soft pastel colors. Well, mine don't exactly look soft or pastel. I'm so sorry! Please, do as I say, not as I do!

Stamps: Pure Innocence by My Favorite Things; sentiment by Unity stamps

Paper: Sweet Pea DSP; Chocolate Chip, Certainly Celery, and white by SU

Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black; Summer Sun for sponging

MMSC67 and a Sugar Creek Hollow Freebie!!

Good morning!! Can you believe how quickly August is flying by? My little one starts kindergarten next week...how did that happen? My card today is for this week's Midnight Madness sketch #67, and I'm using a free image from Sugar Creek Hollow. You can grab it HERE. I colored the background with E50 and E51 to give it an aged look, and I roughed up the edges a bit. I don't have any flourishes, so I created my own using Basic Grey pearls. The paper is Graphic 45, and the card stock is Chocolate Chip and Pear Pizzazz by Stampin' Up. The ribbon is from my stash (which if laid end to end could probably take me around the globe!).
Thanks for stopping by today!!

It's a scorcher here in Charlotte with a heat index of close to 100 degrees. Here comes the heat, not my favorite time of the year, but I decided to make the best of it by hitting my craft room. Of course, I'm avoiding cleaning the house, but I can't be perfect!! And, I packed 7 challenges into this card...is that a record for me? It might be!!

It's Graduation Season

I've got another graduation card for you. I've been using the same stamp, but it is so versatile that my cards all look a bit different!! Today's card is for two challenges: Midnight Madness sketch (MMSC56) and Paper Sundaes color challenge this week (PSC20), which was kraft and blue.
I'm having a little withdrawal today...Flutter By Wednesday is taking the month of June off, so my card doesn't have a butterfly, fairy or angel anywhere on it!! Whoa...that's strange!!
Sugar Creek Hollow is having a blog hop this Saturday...don't miss it, there will be some awesome prizes for the winners!!
Card Details:
Stamps: Graduation cap by Sugar Creek Hollow
Paper: Night of Navy, Brocade Blue, and Kraft DSP by Stampin' Up
Accessories: Spica glitter pens; Creative Memories circle cutter; Cricut Locker Talk cartridge; Making Memories trim; Basic Grey pearls

Sugar Creek Hollow and Midnight Madness

Just a quick note to let you know that the Grand Opening of Sugar Creek Hollow is coming on March 1st, and there are some amazing surprises and a blog hop coming that day!! The images in my card are both from Sugar Creek Hollow, which is a faith-based digital stamp company that specializes in vintage and primitive images. They are a lot of fun to work with, and I've been able to tap into another side of my creativity.

Today's card is for the Midnight Madness sketch #42 (MMSC42)...a fun sketch that I actually simplified a bit. The papers are from that amazingly inexpensive and huge scrapbooking kit by Cosmo Cricket at Tuesday Morning...very fun!
Got to run for now...a million things to do at the moment!

Here Comes the Bride

A wedding card with no recipient in mind...that doesn't always happen, but this time it did!
I usually make my cards for the fun of it, then I use them when I need them, so no worries! This is another triple challenge card. It is for the Midnight Madness Sketch #7, Color Throwdown #48, and for my first challenge at 365 Cards (Day 112). Color Throwdown is one of my favorites, and the Midnight Madness sketch is becoming one of my new favorites! I love a good challenge!
We have a little bit of a lazy morning this morning, so I can take my time to post. Blogger is doing weird things again, apparently for everyone. A very happy birthday wish to Katie Cotton of Paper Makeup Stamps!!

I'm still so shocked by all of the news this past week. Three highly iconic figures all die in one week. Incredible. I was a teenager during the 80s, so Michael Jackson was very much a part of my life. And, can I just say, his songs are really fun to tap dance to! I was a Charlie's Angels fan, too. So, a farewell to Ed, Farrah, and Michael.

Card Details:
Stamps: Mary by Paper Makeup Stamps
Paper: Pink Pirouette cardstock and DSP, Baja Breeze CS and DSP, and Kraft by Stampin' Up
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: Bride's Flowers; Love and Happiness Rubons by SU; Colorbok rhinestone stickers; CM oval cutters
Copics: R00, R01, R20, R21, E33, E40, E41, E57, BG72, G24, YG03

Well, now it's a triple header!

I told you that I was on a Tilda roll lately, and you want to know the beauty of it all? They have almost exclusively been made with images that were sent to me! I'm so very fortunate to have some very generous friends!! This second card of the day was actually made from a sketch on a new blog that I found!! It is a Midnight Madness Sketch (#6), and it was fun! I actually had to make the card a little bigger to get the image I wanted, but it worked quite well!! Fun, fun, fun...never enough sketches to go around, in my opinion! You have to check out this challenge blog...there are cash prizes, and if they reach a certain number of followers by the end of June, the cash prize will double!! That is pretty cool and fun!!

On a side note, in our travels to Pittsburgh this past weekend, I discovered that our hotel was only 2 miles from a Pat Catans craft store. Holy moly...I think I hit crafters' nirvana!! Nesties for $14.97...I would be so in trouble if I lived close by to that store. I couldn't believe the fabulous bargains to be had and all the different crafts they have there. Even their art department was great! (No copics, but nobody's perfect...LOL!)

Card Details:
Stamps: Tilda with Sunflower; Designer Label by SU
Paper: Ambrosia by Basic Grey; Going Gray and Tangerine Tango by Stampin' Up
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: Designer Label Punch by SU; May Arts, SU, Basic Grey and If it's Paper ribbon; K & Company brad; Bling It pearls by Basic Grey
Copics: R00, R01, R20, G24, Y11, Y08, YR02, YR04, YR09, E13, E25, E27, E33, E57
