Twinkling Tuesday...a little late! MTTSC21

This really was a challenge for me this week! The sketch (MTTSC21) was tricky...ah, the minds of children! They are way smarter than we give them credit for!! I'm not 100% happy with the picture because the card is better in person, but here goes! The Butterfly stamp is from Great Impressions, and it is colored with Faber Castell pencils and Gamsol...I thought that it looked softer than using Copics. I do love that I was able to use a long forgotten embellishment...the ribbon slide letters! They are difficult to see, but it says "Fly." I also used one of the skinny Cuttlebug embossing folders on the edge because it just needed something there!

I'm going to blabber on for a minute because today would've been my grandmother's birthday. May has always been both a special and busy month in my family. My birthday is tomorrow, and there was almost exactly 60 years to the day age difference between us...she would've been 97. WOW...I really miss her. She used to make us all special cakes for our birthdays. My favorites were always slush cakes. Today is also my nephew's 19th birthday, so it just shows me that life ends and begins, there's just no stopping it. I hope you all had a great Mother's Day!

Easter Challenge Card

I've wanted to get to the sketch challenge on SCS (#222) since yesterday, but I only had a few minutes today! I had already colored the image on the card, so the putting together part was a snap! The stamp is new from DRS Designs, and it is a cutie called Duck's Decoration! The paper is so yummy from my favorite company, Basic Grey!! I just absolutely adore those wonderful little 6x6 paper packs.

Tomorrow (April 3rd), DRS Designs is having their first ever blog hop, and it will start on the DRS Designs blog. I think it will be fun, so if you have a chance to pop over there, you'll see some familiar faces and some cute stamps!!

Stylish Tilda

The sun is finally shining today in the Carolinas...we've had our share of gloom lately. Raining Tilda is much better than real rain! This is the card that I made for the March raining group #2 over on the Magnolia-licious yahoo group. I actually played around with my pencils and gamsol this time instead of the copics. I realize that the more I practice, the better I get...imagine that! LOL! However, my supply of pencils is limited, so I have to pick and choose carefully which colors that I need. Also, I heard some chatter about how the prismacolor pencils are constantly breaking, and the sharpening gets a little tedious. Someone then suggested the polychromous pencils from Faber Castell. And, they were right, the prismas break all the time, and the Faber Castell don't. However, I do like the results with the prismas a tad better. Anyone else had this issue? Just my little testimonial!

I just love playing with these Tildas! I mostly have stamped images of them, but I am now the proud owner of a few them. They are expensive, but I will add to my collection slowly as they are the most darling things. Friends and family from home love them because we have such a strong Swedish heritage.
