Dream a Little Dream

"Am I Blue? Am I Blue?" I guess I'm very song oriented today! This card is another challenge card from Stampin' Out Alzheimers, and it is for Lisa Kind's Copic color challenge (soablues) on there! Fun challenges, great prizes, and such a worthy cause!! There is still time to play along!!

Another busy day today!! I have my tap dance recital tonight...yes, I said "my" tap recital. My daughter's is next Saturday, and mine is tonight at 8:00. My intermediate adult tap class is dancing to "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" by Queen. We are tapping in jeans, so that should be really interesting! I'm hoping I don't trip all over myself and forget the part, but I think I'll be ok! I'm just glad that after all of these years I was actually able to learn how to tap dance.

Card details:
Stamps: Flutter Anya by The Greeting Farm
Paper: Pacific Point and Close to Cocoa by Stampin' Up; Marrakech by Basic Grey

SOA Challenge: Any Winged Thing

Here is my entry for another SOA contest called Any Winged Thing (PMSSOA), and it is sponsored by one of my favorite people, Katie Cotton and her company Paper Makeup Stamps. I hadn't inked up Arianna or the Fairy sentiment set yet, two of the newest releases from PMS, so this was the perfect opportunity! In addition, I also used some new Wisteria paper, and it is really is beautiful!!
Short post today as we have a million and one things going on: a makeup swim lesson, straight to ballet/tap class, lunch and then Gymboree school. YIKES!! I hope I pack everything that I am supposed to for this!

That's one classy Butterfly!

Well, it is, isn't it? I had fun with this week's Mojo Monday Sketch (MOJO88 and soamojo) because it was two-fold: a great Monday sketch and a challenge on the Stamping Out Alzheimer's site this week! It is not too late to join, and with a suggested donation to Alzheimer's research for only $5 (payable through paypal) it is well worth it. They have daily prizes, free downloads (digi images, papers, scrap packs, templates, etc) and weeklong challenges worth $25 and up...you simply can't go wrong!

There is actually no stamping on this card...that's unusual for me, but I love it when a card comes together like this! I used old paper, a scrap of ribbon that I took off of something, and a brand new embellishment I found on the clearance aisle! How great is that? Thanks for stopping by today and try to make it over to Stamping Out Alzheimers for all the fun that benefits a very worthy cause!!
Here are the details for you:
Stamps: NONE!!
Paper: DCWV designer paper; Basic Black and Real Red by Stampin' Up
Ink: NONE!!
Accessories: Rhinestone stickers; Red satin ribbon; Butterfly embellishment by Brides magazine (Michaels); Swiss Dots cuttlebug embossing folder; Fiskars 2 inch circle punch; Marvy Uchida Mega scalloped circle punch

"Just living is not enough..."

said the butterfly. "One must have sunshine, freedom and a little flower." This is a quote from Hans Christian Anderson, and it is a sentiment from DRS Designs. I love a good quote, and this of course struck my fancy because of its beautiful reference (and reverence) to butterflies.

A close up of the inside section with the quote.
And, a closeup of the Shimmerz on the small butterfly die cut from Quickutz. I think I've gone butterfly crazy in my shopping!! How could I possibly pass up this little gem? I use Royal Purple Shimmerz to give it that extra "Shazam"!

This week's Flutter By Wednesday Challenge was to use brads or eyelets in some way on your card. So, bust out those babies and get to work! Don't forget the butterflies and/or fairies in your card, and we would all love to see your creations, so link them up on Danni's blog!! Our featured team member this week is Harriet Skelly, and she has some amazing creations in her SCS gallery...visit and leave her some love! We also bid a short adieu to our team members Ashley and Heather. They are taking a short hiatus: Ashley is expecting very soon, and Heather has many family obligations. They are both such creative, wonderful stampers, but we are excited for the changes in their lives!
Finally, this card was also created for TLC221 on SCS which was to make a Tri-shutter card, and I have had so much fun creating this style of card!!
Card Details:
Stamps: sentiment by DRS Designs
Paper: Going Gray, Elegant Eggplant, and Baja Breeze by Stampin' Up; Poppyfinch by Memory Box
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: Scor-Pal; SU craft knife; quilting ruler; 1 3/8 inch circle punch and scalloped circle punch by SU; Butterfly die cut by Quickutz; SU rubons; SU ribbon; eyelets; Angel Wings Shimmerz

Flower Girl MTTSC24 and CC220

I was determined to get some stamping done this morning...I just wasn't feeling it last night, so I combined today's Madelynn's Twinkling Tuesday sketch with SCS' Color Combination 220 (Bashful Blue, So Saffron, and Pumpkin Pie), and this is the result. I purchased the Whiff of Joy summer set, and I know that from now on, I will be ordering it! A solid sheet full of gorgeous rubber images...who can go wrong with that? She is a cutie, and I have 5 other cuties plus sentiments and accessories to go with it!

I'm also very excited about my Flutter By Wednesday card for tomorrow, so stay tuned to see it! I finished it last Friday, so I was way ahead of the game...can you believe that one?
Card Details:
Stamps: Whiff of Joy
Paper: Delicate Dots DSP, So Saffron, Bashful Blue, and Pumpkin Pie by Stampin' Up
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black

Oh Baby!!

Isn't she just the cutest little thing? I loved her little toothy grin when I first saw her, so I knew that I needed to make a card with her. She is called Happy Hat Girl from DRS Designs, and she is part of the Cutie Pie Kids collection. They come either mounted or unmounted, whichever you prefer. I was also excited to use these fabric corner covers by Making Memories that I bought what seems like years ago, and this was the perfect time to use them! I love it when that happens. See, we can always find a use for everything, if we try hard enough!!

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday weekend! We were pretty relaxed here, but it was on the rainy side. Our outside picnic got moved inside, and our house really isn't conducive to 15 people, but oh well, we made it work. Meredith was able to play with her cousins and friends this weekend, so she was over the moon. She even went to a birthday party on Saturday at a little girl's salon. Imagine the glitter in the hair and on the nails, a princess dress, and an updo! Dress up heaven!

Card Details:
Stamps: Happy Hat Girl by DRS Designs
Paper: Pink Pirouette CS and DSP and Creamy Caramel by Stampin' Up
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: SU Ribbon; Making Memories fabric corners and "pat-a-cake" ribbon slide

Twinkling Reeta Dita MTTSC23, CC219

Wow, how's that for a color combination outside of my comfort zone? So, in essence this was a true challenge for me because I rarely, if ever use orange on my cards. The color combination was from this week's Color Combination challenge on SCS...CC219, and it was to use Only Orange, Purely Pomegranate, and Brilliant Blue. I was able to ink up one of my new Greeting Farm stamps, Reeta. She's a cutie, and I couldn't wait to use her. Her diamond pattern on her skirt went so well with the Argyle Cuttlebug embossing folder that I couldn't resist. Also, I brought out my sewing machine and stitched just a simple zigzag pattern with a variegated thread around the two nestability shapes. I used the sketch for Madelynn's Twinkling Tuesday (MTTSC23), and it was a fun one by Jacky this week! Check it out and play along because I always have a lot of fun with the challenges on the website!

Card Details:
Stamps: Reeta by The Greeting Farm
Paper: Only Orange, Purely Pomegranate, Brilliant Blue by Stampin' Up; Lime Rickey by Basic Grey

Blossom, the Dino Diva

The challenge at Paper Makeup Stamps (PMSMC12) this week was to use the colors Apple Green and Watermelon Slice, taken from two paint samples. Well, I came up with using Gable Green and Regal Rose (with a little Rose Red thrown in) from Stampin' Up. I didn't want to color Bronto by Paper Makeup in the usual brown/gray tones, so why not pink? I chose Rose Red (R85) by Copic and away I went. I knew that a flower was a must and a friend suggested the pearls! What a combination! This is the most diva looking dinosaur I have ever encountered!!

In case you missed the announcement, there is a new challenge blog on the horizon. The Next Level will launch on June 1st, and it is promising to be a multi-faceted challenge blog, and I can't wait! There are never enough challenges for this challenge junky!! In addition, they are offering blog candy for their launch. Check out their blog and spread the word!!

Anniversary Mojo

Interesting mix of terms, eh? I couldn't seem to find a snappy title for this one. I colored this image, and then I just knew that I had to use it for an anniversary card for my parents. They are celebrating their 48th wedding anniversary on Wednesday! Can you believe, in the age of disposable anything, they have lasted 48 years? One little pearl of wisdom that my mother always told me was, "I love your dad, but I don't like him every day!" When you really break that down, it just means that you aren't going to get along all the time, but when the basis of the relationship is love, then I think you can plod your way through just about anything. Happy Anniversary, Mom and Dad...I love you!!

This is for the Mojo Monday 87, and I actually did it on Monday...I'm on a roll! Hopefully, I can be as on top of other things (like housework!). And, I did get some awesome news today...I will be going to Copic Certification in Durham, NC at the end of June. I can hardly stand the excitement! Woohoo!!!
Happy Belated Birthday (May 14th) to Cassie Larson, and Happy Birthday (May 18th) to Michelle McDaniel, two of my awesome Flutter By Wednesday DT friends!!
And, please note my sidebar and take a look at a new challenge blog coming from Dawn and Madge called The Next Level challenge blog. You know me, I love challenges! And, they are offering some great blog candy for their launch!!

Spreading Sunshine

I've been a bit MIA this past week, so I have to apologize for that! We've been busy, and I just haven't posted many cards. Too much celebration, I guess! I will try to post every day this week as I still made cards! I'm getting my Whiff of Joy summer kit today, and I am absolutely excited...can't wait to get my hands on some new rubber!! (Like I need any more than I already have!) This next week I will be showing you a few more cards made with the Cutie Pie Kids collection from DRS Designs.

I did find this nifty EK Success Border punch at Micheals. It wasn't in the usual spot...it was actually with a grouping of products that they seem to be doing in the aisle now. It was super cute, so I had to have it. Get this...I bought it without a coupon! Living on the edge, I am!! I used the Urban Prairie line from Basic Grey. Sometimes I can't even believe how well they go with the Stampin' Up cardstock. The beautiful flowers were a gift from my friend Heather in a gorgeous box she made! Thanks Heather!! Thanks for stopping by today!!
Card Details:
Paper: Urban Prairie by Basic Grey; Baja Breeze and Kiwi Kiss by Stampin' Up
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black

Dapper DRS Dude

How's that for some alliteration? I couldn't really think of a clever title, so I went with this one! The image is part of the Cutie Pie Kids collection from DRS Designs, and I really love the whole line! They are completely adorable and super fun to color. I actually sat down the other night with 7 of the images and colored away. Now, I'll have to make them all into cards! Also, I had to bust out my Basic Grey Ambrosia paper that Dawn gave me for my birthday. It is gorgeous, and I paired it with Real Red and Basic Black by Stampin' Up.

I have a sweet little Meredith story for you. She is my four year old, and she loves to make cards for every occasion. Here is the conversation:

Meredith: Mom, are we going to the festival tonight?
Me: Yes, honey at the church. (our Italian festival)
Meredith: Who's the in charge guy at the church?
Me: You mean Father John?
Meredith: Yes and God. I'm going to make a card for them.
Me: That's nice honey.
Meredith: Is God a boy or a girl? Where is he?
Me: (thinking...it's 9 in the morning and I have to answer these questions). That's a tough one, but most people think God is a boy. And, God is everywhere.
Meredith: Ok, (as she looks around for him) can I make a card for him then.

How sweet is that? Never a dull moment!!

Card Details:
Stamps: Sweet Offering by DRS Designs
Paper: Ambrosia by Basic Grey; Basic Black and Real Red by Stampin' Up

It's Flutter By Time!!!

Good day to all...I didn't schedule my post last night, so this may be a little tardy for some! If you would like to play along this week, all you need to do is include a sentiment or quote on your card along with a butterfly and/or fairy, of course. Visit Danni's blog to link your creation to Mr. Linky, so that we can all see them!! I love visiting other's creations!

We have a feature on one of our design team members this week, and she has the most beautiful creations. Nicola is a great addition to our team...please visit her blog and leave her some love. She recently sent me the most exquisite birthday card! All of her creations are beautiful on her blog, but this one is person was amazing! Speaking of additions, we have two new members to introduce to you this week! Lelia and Christine would love for you to visit their blogs also!

Not a butterfly in sight, but I do have this adorable little fairy from Paper Makeup Stamps (PMS). She is a beauty, and she is part of the new release from last week! I also did this card for the Monday challenge on the PMS blog, which was to add sparkle/bling/glitter, etc. to your card! PMSMC11 is the name!! It's difficult to see the shimmerz, but they are there!!
Card details:
Stamps: Ashlie by Paper Makeup Stamps

Sprout and Butterflies-MOJO86

Wow, two posts in one day!! I actually stayed home today, so I was able to get the Mojo Monday 86 sketch done on Monday! This week's sketch was a nice one, but I did have a little problem with space! Oh well! The image is a new one from The Greeting Farm, and the butterflies are from an older set also by The Greeting Farm.

I did receive my new Paper Makeup Stamps today, and I can't wait to use them on this week's PMS challenge, so hopefully, I'll have that up tomorrow. I'm going out to dinner for a mom's night out, so who knows how tired I'll be!
Card details:
Stamps: Dahlia and Sweet Deal by The Greeting Farm
Paper: Urban Prairie by Basic Grey; Rose Red, Tempting Turquoise, and Cool Caribbean CS by Stampin' Up
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black

Twinkling Tuesday...a little late! MTTSC21

This really was a challenge for me this week! The sketch (MTTSC21) was tricky...ah, the minds of children! They are way smarter than we give them credit for!! I'm not 100% happy with the picture because the card is better in person, but here goes! The Butterfly stamp is from Great Impressions, and it is colored with Faber Castell pencils and Gamsol...I thought that it looked softer than using Copics. I do love that I was able to use a long forgotten embellishment...the ribbon slide letters! They are difficult to see, but it says "Fly." I also used one of the skinny Cuttlebug embossing folders on the edge because it just needed something there!

I'm going to blabber on for a minute because today would've been my grandmother's birthday. May has always been both a special and busy month in my family. My birthday is tomorrow, and there was almost exactly 60 years to the day age difference between us...she would've been 97. WOW...I really miss her. She used to make us all special cakes for our birthdays. My favorites were always slush cakes. Today is also my nephew's 19th birthday, so it just shows me that life ends and begins, there's just no stopping it. I hope you all had a great Mother's Day!
Card details:
Paper: Pixie Pink and Lovely Lilac by Stampin' Up; Euphoria by Basic Grey
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: Faber Castell pencils; Gamsol; Cuttlebug Embossing Folder; Slide letters by Paper Studio; ribbon

Mommy's Little Sweetheart (Mojo 85)

I couldn't resist snapping this shot before we left for church this morning. She is quite the little fashionista with a style all her own! She just couldn't wait to put on these newly acquired pink Cowgirl boots (don't even try to call them Cowboy boots, she'll correct you!)! She got many reactions at church this morning, but I just thought she looked so darn cute!! The card below has a stamp that reminds me of my child (a short-haired blond with a big heart!!). Happy Mother's Day!

This card is for this past week's Mojo Monday, and I am completely under the gun to get it posted! I've been incredibly busy this week, and stamping somewhat took a backseat, but my Mother's Day treat today was uninterrupted time in the craft room! Yahoo!! The sketch is Mojo 85, and I was able to use my new Basic Grey Lime Rickey paper! I spent a good amount of time trying to decide which SU colors looked best with it. Here are just some of my picks:
Riding Hood Red
Kiwi Kiss
Tempting Turquoise
Cool Caribbean
Elegant Eggplant
Tangerine Tango
Vintage Violet
Card details:
Stamps: From the Heart by Stampin' Up
Paper: Kiwi Kiss and Riding Hood Red by SU; Lime Rickey by Basic Grey
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: EK Success Border Punch; Angel Wings Shimmerz; Cuttlebug Embossing Folder
Copic Markers: R00, R20, RV11, E57, E59, Y21, R37, G24

Everything and Everyone's Blooming!

Good morning! I'm still recovering from the Paper Makeup Stamps Release Party...everything was so rapid-fire on the forum last night, that I literally sat at the computer for 2 hours. I even missed Grey's Anatomy (well, I watched it later, but you know!). I had to be part of the excitement, and it was exciting! I'll be working on the challenges in the next few days...who can stamp while chained to the computer?

This is my card for the May Rain ladies in my Magnolia-licious group! I was so late with my April cards that I vowed to get these done and in the mail, and I succeeded yesterday! This is an image that I received, so I am unsure of the exact name of this Tilda...I searched both the US store and the Swedish store, and I didn't unearth her. So, if you know her name, leave it in the comments, so I can give her proper credit! I always try to move Heaven and Earth to give the right name to something if I can! However, I'm at a loss for this one!

We have a busy weekend ahead, so I'm not sure how much stamping that I will get done! Strawberry picking Saturday morning, date night Saturday night, and then Mother's Day festivities on Sunday. Should be fun...hopefully the weather holds out!

Thanks for stopping by today...I truly appreciate all who look and support me!

A Little Time Left for Butterflies

It's Wednesday, and it is indeed a Flutter By Day!! We have an inspiration challenge for you this week, and it is a beautiful photograph. Please visit Danni's blog to see our featured dt member and our special guest designer this week. Our featured team member this week is Kim, and she is in a word, AWESOME! Sweet with her comments and expert with her abilities! Please visit her and give her some love! Our other surprise this week is our guest designer, Kerry Donovan-Casey. Her blog is truly an inspiration as are all of her creations.

When I first saw the picture for this week's challenge, I knew that I had to use this gorgeous stamp from Firecracker Designs by Pamela. It was just too perfect! I had wanted to have the butterfly land on the flower, but I couldn't find just the right butterfly to make that work, so I improvised (don't we all do that??). I love my Martha Stewart butterfly punch. I used Shimmerz on the flower, and I just had to get the right angle to show you exactly how much it shimmers. I'm afraid I lose a bit of the quality of the photograph, but you get the idea!

Thanks for playing along with our Flutter By Wednesday Challenge #56 this week...it's always a pleasure to share it with you. And, who doesn't have a little time left for butterflies?

Card details:
Stamps:
Black Eyed Susan by Firecracker Designs by Pamela

Thanks a Bunch! MOJO84, CC216

This was a fun card to make...kind of like when all the stars align and everything comes together. Then, it just becomes effortless! Does that ever really happen? I got very close to that feeling with this card. It is my combination of MOJO84 and CC216 (on SCS).

I have to brag a little about my daughter today...she really is growing up. My hubby took her to church solo today, and she behaved so well that all were surprised. Then, I had to take her with me to the stamping and scrapbooking garage sale that our LSS sponsors (because hubby was at the Quail Hollow Championship). When it was very apparent I would need to take her for the 5 hour sale, I had to come up with something fast (pack snacks and toys and drinks). She is always wanting to do a lemonade stand, so we bought cookies and bottled water, and she had a little stand. Let me tell you, that little girl was focused! She was so well-behaved, and it was wonderful! My little entrepreneur!!!!

Stamps: Cup of Stuff by The Greeting Farm
Paper: Pink Flamingo, Real Red DSP, Basic Black, Real Red, and Old Olive cardstock by Stampin' Up

Frog went a courting, he did ride...hmm-mm, hmm-mm

You're singing the song, aren't you? Welcome to my world! I get something stuck in my head, and I can't let it go! My title actually has very little to do with the card, but that is the title I wanted today. I made this card for a birthday party that my daughter attended today...the 4th one in a row! It is definitely birthday party season, but she has such a great time that I end up having a good time, too. And, I mentally file the party places that I like for future reference.

I can remember growing up that we had two options for parties: McDonalds and the skating rink. I never had either...Boo hoo!! It was always family only at our house! However, the one really fond memory I had growing up was that my birthday always fell close to Mother's Day, and my grandmother's church had a Mother/Daughter banquet. We dressed up and had dinner in the church basement served by the men. They always gave away the centerpieces, and you knew if you won by whether there was a piece of paper taped under your chair! Whoa, I'm way off topic...ERRRR, back on the highway!

When I read that this week's entry for Madelynn's Twinkling Tuesday (MTTSC20) was to use a frog, I thought, "oh, that's adorable!" Then, I thought for a minute, "wait, I don't have any frog stamps!" Luckily, I have a friend who owns every stamp known to man, so she brought some over, and this is the result. I used the sketch from SCS this week (SC226). I always get excited when I actually have something she needs and can borrow from me because it never seems to happen!! Well, on to the details!!

SCS Inky Divas Challenge #1

Well, I'm not really sure if my other Inky Divas have participated this week, but our challenge was to use the Pottery Barn catalog for inspiration. I found this towel in my Pottery Barn Kids catalog, and I thought it would be the perfect card. It reminded me so much of a new die that I bought from Quickutz. So, voila, a card was born! I think I would really love this towel, but I'm not spending $22 on a towel...even I have to draw the line!! LOL! If you (Inky Divas) didn't see the challenge, visit the post HERE.

Paper: Tempting Turquoise, Pixie Pink, and Pink Pirouette CS; Pretty in Pink DSP; Flock Together DP all by Stampin' Up
