Welcome to another awesome week at Flutter By Wednesday! We are continuing Danni's birthday celebration all month long, and we have two amazing sponsors this week: Paper Makeup Stamps and The Greeting Farm. Some really heavy hitters this week! You don't want to miss this and the prizes are awesome!! If you would like to join us, please visit HERE and upload your card! Don't forget that your card must have a butterfly, angel, or fairy on it. The theme is Anything Goes, so whatever your heart desires!

My card today is using one of my all-time favorite TGF stamps -- Flutter Anya! She is still so adorable! I colored her with Copics and cut her out. She is mounted on the following papers: Cheerful Treat DSP, Lucky Limeade, Melon Mambo, and Pink Pirouette cardstock, all by Stampin' Up! The ribbon is also from Stampin' Up. PTTC22 - As easy as 1-2-3

One image, two designer papers, three different types of embellishments...that is how easy 1-2-3 really is! I used this wonderful designer paper from Kristie, one of our fearless leaders at Party Time Tuesdays! We'd love to have you join us this week at Party Time Tuesdays for some fun! Just remember that in addition to follow the challenge of 1-2-3, you must create a birthday card that has a sentiment that indicates that on the front! Upload your creation HERE!

Also, don't forget that Party Time Tuesdays is having a design team call, and the details can be found HERE. It's always a party!

PTTC#6 From the Outside Looking In

Our challenge this week at Party Time Tuesdays is Outside In. Well, Kristie told us this is open to interpretation, so this is my interpretation. The outside of my card is fairly simple, and the inside literally pops!! I made my very first pop-up card, and it is the simple kind! That's ok!!

This little cutie is from the Greeting Farm set Showtime. One of Meredith's friends turned 5 a week ago, and she had a circus-themed birthday party. How perfect was this set for that occasion? I had to go with it! My team mates would love a visit from you, and we would love to have you try our challenge this week!

A Ballerina Anya Thank You!!

TGIF!! It has been a really long and really strange week! With Monday being a holiday, it just seemed to throw everything else off!! Last weekend, Meredith had her dance recital, and their costumes looked like chickens. One of their songs was actually "Ain't Nobody Here But Us Chickens," and they were absolutely adorable!! Today was Meredith's last dance class, so I made this card for her teacher, and I knew that I needed to pay homage to the wonderful costume!

FBW102 - A bit of a Whimsical Butterfly

Welcome to this wacky Wednesday! It's Flutter By Wednesday, and this week's challenge is an open one--just don't forget the butterfly, fairy or angel on there! I decided to highlight my card from my stamp club swap. The theme for that was an inside out card. Well, I interpreted it as the inside should hold a little more stuff than normal. This card is a bit more scaled back than I usually do, but we all need to mix it up a bit! We would love to have you play along, so link up your creation HERE!

Be sure to visit my team members' blogs to see all of their creations:

I used two different sets...the butterflies are actually from a beautiful set from Woodware USA stamps, and the others are from a wonderful set called Butterfly Wishes by Jessica Deidrich for The Greeting Farm. The sentiment reads:

trying to capture a moment such as this
is like trying to catch a butterfly--
too fast to hold on to,
yet absolutely beautiful
and forever remembered...

Card Details:
Stamps: FlutterbyButterflies by Woodware USA; Butterfly Wishes by The Greeting Farm
Paper: Pink Pirouette and Melon Mambo by Stampin' Up
Ink: same as paper
Accessories: SU scalloped circle punch; SU 1 3/8 inch circle punch; Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder; SU oval and scalloped oval punches

Paper Sundaes 9th Challenge - Happy Birthday

HAPPY MONDAY!! I had to shout that just so that I might believe it myself!! Actually, it wasn't too bad of a Monday despite our rather strange weekend that including losing sleep, an early wakeup call, and a 2 hour trip to the CVS Minute Clinic (the name cracks me up in retrospect). A tired dad, a discombobulated mom, and a kid with a double ear infection. Can you say, "good times!"?
On to brighter things! My card today is my first attempt at the Side Stair Step card. It was fun, and it seems a little more stable than the traditional stair step card. I really wanted to play with my 80s Anya, and I finally put pink hair on one of my images. Now, that was liberating!!
My card is for the 9th Paper Sundaes challenge, and it is for a multi-fold Easter or Spring card. Well, it is multi-fold, and the colors are definitely springy. Just chalk it up to my clouded mind from the weekend!! Anyway, it was fun, and I love playing this challenge every week!! It is my goal to keep playing every week, and so far, I have accomplished that. If you haven't tried one of their challenges, they post them every Sunday, and they are fun!! You'll love it!
I have a busy crafting week ahead of me, with a list of 10 different things to get done by Wednesday! This should be interesting! I'll pull it out, one way or another!
Card Details:
Stamps: 80s Anya by The Greeting Farm; Birthday Greetings by Stampin' Up
Paper: Sugar Rush and Lime Rickey by Basic Grey; Melon Mambo and Pink Pirouette by Stampin' Up
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black; Melon Mambo by Stampin' Up
Accessories: Copic markers; Nestabilities; Prima flowers; glitter brads; rhinestone brad

TGF Day: A Hippie and a Bear

My Anyas haven't seen a lot of love lately. My friend's daughter wanted to make a card for her friend's birthday, so she came over and I gave her a little tutorial about coloring. She picked Hippie Anya, and I am embarrassed to say that this little cutie had never seen ink. I colored the image alongside my friend's daughter, and the image sat for a few days while I gathered my ideas. Well, the ideas in my head were a little better than the execution, but I can live with it. The leather is a little cumbersome to work with, but you probably get the idea with where I was going! I love this piece of denim paper, and I have had it for years not knowing how to use it. This was the perfect occasion!

The above card was the little cutie Toby Cub that was a freebie from the CHA relay on TGF's blog. There is so much joy in that little cub's face...it is infectious! I kept the card very simple and almost bare bones. I didn't want to detract from its cuteness! I used this week's sketch on Mercy's blog MTSC58...check it out. I'm always inspired by Mercy's cards!! I thought it only fitting to use her sketch to go with one of the images from the Critter Crew!!

Above is the picture of the Copics I used with the Toby Cub card. Sorry for the scarcity of details today...I'm scheduling 4 posts in a manner of an hour, so my time is tight tonight!

Enjoy and have a wonderful weekend!

The Greeting Farm CHA Relay Days 1 and 2

The Greeting Farm has had a super fun relay race live from CHA this week. It started on Sunday, and I've been having a blast playing with all of the images!! Above is the very handsome Mer Ian. The paper and colors just all came together. I had this paper from Making Memories called Just Chillin' and it was almost a dead on match to SU's Bermuda Bay and Kiwi Kiss. That made me ecstatic when things work out!

This second little darling is named Charlotte, and she is just Sassy with a capital S!! I love her, and she allowed me to finally get over my fear of coloring other skin tones. I used the challenge from Copic Creations (#20) for ethnic skin tones, and away I went!! It was fun, and I was pleased that she came out this well on my first turn with African American skin and hair tones. The paper is an absolute steal that I found at Tuesday Morning...love that place!!

Paper: Kiwi Kiss, Bermuda Bay, Close to Cocoa and Choc. Chip by SU; Just Chillin' by Making Memories

FBW87 Santa Baby Flutters Too!

Good morning All!! It was a wild night here in Charlotte with high winds and rain pounding the windows. Even the window in my craft room was leaking...YIKES!! There's a lot of paper in there! Oh, the horror! Then, when we wake up this morning, it's sunny. Go figure! It will be 60 degrees today, then it will be in the 40s for the rest of week. Crazy! And, to top it all off...my daughter turned 5 on Monday. Where did the time go? I have a 5 year old.

Today is Flutter By Wednesday, and this week we are challenged to make a winter-themed card using a butterfly, fairy, and/or angel on our cards. I saw on the Greeting Farm blog that someone had used the Santa hat from Xmas Sweeties and put it on Flutter Anya. Well, I had to duplicate that idea! Of course, I can't find the original card, but I didn't copy the card, just the idea. So, kudos to the genius who came up with the idea!!
Don't forget that Flutter By Wednesday is moving to a new home after the first of the year. The Flutter By Blog is up, so go and check it out! Meanwhile, after you have made your card, please link it up HERE, and we can all admire your crafting brilliance!

Card Details:

Flutter By Wishes FBW72 and MOJO101

Hello Flutter By fans...it's Wednesday again, and I have a little creation for you. This week's challenge was from Kim, and we were to use our favorite quotes on our cards. Kim always does that most fantastic job with incorporating quotes into her cards. She uses most of her quotes from Paper Makeup, and they have one of the best selections for quotes!! I used my new set from The Greeting Farm this week, and it is designed by Jessica Diedrich...it's an awesome set and Jessica is really proud of it! If you would like to play along this week, please upload your card to Mr. Linky on Danni's blog. And, if you are uploading to SCS or PCP, put the tag FBW72, so we can find it there, too!! This card is also for the MOJO101 sketch this week!

I have some exciting news about our Flutter By challenges for September! September is Danni's birthday month, and she is turning 40 this year. Owl Be There

This card was actually a good way to use up scraps! That's ironic because making scrappy log cabin quilts is a good way to use up scraps of fabric! I thought making a log cabin block out of Basic Grey paper would be fun! I had to make this card big to be able to show an accurate view of the block. The part that was tricky was finding scraps from various BG papers in lights and darks that coordinated well. Sometimes, the different packs don't have enough darks, and then the colors in the different lines don't always coordinate! Who would have thought that using scraps would be so difficult!! This really ended up being a fun card to put together. I had wanted to stitch around the different papers, but I decided against it because it would've gotten just a little too busy for my taste! This is a cute set by The Greeting Farm called Deer Friends.

Card Details:
Stamps: Deer Friends by The Greeting Farm
Paper: Assorted Basic Grey; Old Olive, Summer Sun, Tangerine Tango, and Chocolate Chip by Stampin' Up
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: SU Word Window punch; SU Twill tape; Marvy Uchida scalloped oval punches

Smiling Willow

Sorry that I have been a little MIA this past week!! Meredith has had some overlapping activities (spring ending, summer beginning), and I have been running hither and yon with her. Today is her dance recital, and it is the last activity for this past year. Now, she just has summer camp! My sister is also visiting, so we have been doing one of our favorite activities: shopping! It's exhausting! Also, we've been working on some sewing projects, so I haven't even made a card in the past few days! This card was for the Stampin' Out Alzheimers challenges from last week. I had to use one of my new Whiff of Joy stamps...she is so gorgeous! Enough rambling...it's a quick post today!

Card details:
Stamps: Willow in the Summer Breeze by Whiff of Joy; sentiment from Happy Chef by the Greeting Farm
Paper: Pink Flamingo, Real Red, and Tempting Turquoise by SU

Hello Flutter By lovers!!! It's Wednesday, my favorite day of the week!! This week's theme is basically anything goes...use a butterfly and/or a fairy and let loose!! I decided to use both this week, so I hope you enjoy the summery colors! We are already in the trenches of summer with near 90 degree temps! Though the calendar may not say it's summer, it is here! We have a treat over on the Danni's blog today...our guest designer is the legendary Cindy Haffner!! Well, she's legendary to me!! Also, our featured design team member this week is the uber talented Chris! She is one of my stamping idols, so you have to cruise over to her blog and check out all of her amazing creations! Lastly, we want to give a huge, wild, loud welcome back to Kimmie! Awesome to have her back!

Thanks for stopping by today...I really appreciate it, and I do read all of your comments!!

Dream a Little Dream

"Am I Blue? Am I Blue?" I guess I'm very song oriented today! This card is another challenge card from Stampin' Out Alzheimers, and it is for Lisa Kind's Copic color challenge (soablues) on there! Fun challenges, great prizes, and such a worthy cause!! There is still time to play along!!

Another busy day today!! I have my tap dance recital tonight...yes, I said "my" tap recital. My daughter's is next Saturday, and mine is tonight at 8:00. My intermediate adult tap class is dancing to "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" by Queen. We are tapping in jeans, so that should be really interesting! I'm hoping I don't trip all over myself and forget the part, but I think I'll be ok! I'm just glad that after all of these years I was actually able to learn how to tap dance.
