Spread Your Wings and Fly!

Happy Monday! Happy Monday! Happy monday! happy monday. Who am I kidding? It's Monday; it's cold; it's raining. There is a reason that there is a song titled, "Rainy Days and Mondays." It was especially bittersweet because we had a beautiful day yesterday (high in the upper 60s), and we were outside for much of the day.
However, I'm trying to make the most of it! Today's card is a mixture of challenges with a new set of stamps that I bought on the BST forum on SCS...love that place!
Paper Sundaes #6 - distressed
SSHP #19 - distressed
SPCC #36 - Creamy Caramel, Barely Banana, Mellow Moss
Belli Challenge #85 - butterflies and/or dragonflies
Card Details:
Stamps: Butterfly and sentiment by There She Goes stamps

FBW96 Elegant Butterfly

Happy, happy Wednesday everyone!! Are we really 10 days into the month of February already? Where on earth does the time go? It is Wednesday, and it is definitely Flutter By time here! We are just blown away by all of the response on our new home! We had well over 100 entries for last week's challenge...can you believe it? Well, I can! Who doesn't love butterflies, fairies and angels? This week's challenge is use your butterfly, fairy or angel to convey love. That's it...a simple theme of love this week, but don't forget the butterfly, fairy or angel! That's the essential part. I just love this time of year and the ability to make so many Valentine's Day cards...the colors must speak to me! Link up your card HERE so that we may come and admire your craftsmanship.

I combined my Flutter By Wednesday #96 card with the sketch #125 from Mojo Monday. It was a beautiful sketch this week, and I knew that I wanted to pair this lovely butterfly image from Sugar Creek Hollow in this week's challenge. Please visit the blog here to see this image and many other vintage and primitive digital stamps. I colored the butterfly with my Copic and Spica markers. And, this butterfly image is FREE...just go HERE to snag it! Free is always a good way to try digis...you'll be addicted!!

Card Details:
Stamps:
Butterfly by Sugar Creek Hollow
Paper: Bittersweet by Basic Grey; Close to Cocoa, Chocolate Chip, and Pink Pirouette by Stampin' Up
Accessories: Copic Markers (RV21, RV23, RV25, RV29); SU satin ribbon; Nestabilities; Cuttlebug embossing folder (Victoria); EK Success border punch; CM cutting system

FBW83 Giving Thanks

I really love this time of year because I try to focus on the things that I am thankful for around me. I am thankful for my family and friends, our good health, our freedom, and the many blessings we have had this year. I have been thankful this year for being able to make my Flutterby cards every week and the opportunity and privilege of serving on such a fantastic design team. These girls are top notch and fun and kind...it's been an honor, and I am thankful for them. Without butterflies, this wouldn't have been possible. So, in essence, I am thankful also for butterflies and the power that they had to bring all of us together!

Our theme this week is giving thanks...and it can have any interpretation that you can come up with. The only requirement is that the card includes a butterfly and/or fairy on it. We would love to see your creation...just link it up HERE. My other design team members would love for you to visit their creations also...a complete list is in my left sidebar. My card is also for this week's MOJO 112 sketch. Thank you for visiting my blog!

FBW82 A Butterfly with Pizazz!!

Doesn't that color (Bermuda Bay) have pizazz? It just jumps off the screen...so glad that I was able to use it today!! And, I have a new Martha Stewart punch...it's a butterfly border punch. It punches out the butterfly images, then it makes some of them so they pop up! Sometimes those details get a little lost in a picture!!

Did I get my groove back yet? Maybe a glimmer because I combined this week's Flutterby challenge with this week's Mojo Monday 111 sketch! I haven't done a Mojo sketch in a LONG time! What is wrong with me? This week's Flutterby Wednesday challenge is an open one--just don't forget to use a butterfly and/or fairy on your card! I love this quote, but I have very few butterfly related quotes, so this one gets a lot of action. We hope that you will play along with us this week...we've got a few members fighting the flu, so send them some healing thoughts! We would love to see your creation, so please link up HERE to show us your stuff! And, fun, fun, fun--we have a guest designer this week. Her name is Vicki, and she is awesome!! You will especially love her card for this week on Danni's blog!! Check it out!!

Good morning, Flutter By Wednesday fans!! Sorry I'm a little late this morning, but as you can see, there are two cards to show today!! Mojo 92 Pat the Dog

I finally inked up this adorable set from Our Craft Lounge. Pat the Bad Dog is hilarious! I would totally have a mishap like this, if I had a dog! In a way, it reminds me of a friend's dog who always digs her way out under the fence. I think that dog's name is Bisou, Bad Doggie, rather than just plain old Bisou! I used this week's Mojo Monday Sketch #92 for the card. I had to alter it a bit to get it to fit on the card, but that's ok!!

I was able to create this evening after Meredith and I had our little a la carte dinner...that's what we do when Daddy won't be home for dinner! After we were done, we both went to the craft room where she proceeded to make a mess. Oh well...I make a mess to, but my messes never seem as bad as hers!!

Stamps: Pat the Bad Dog by Our Craft Lounge

Ah, Mondays!!

Mondays are often a conflicting time for me. We are usually so busy on the weekends that Monday is a tiring day back in the groove. And, we just came off driving 9 hours to Pittsburgh on Friday, a reunion on Saturday, and driving home 9 hours on Sunday. Add in poor sleep and poor eating, and you may have a disaster on your hands, at least in the life of a 4 year old. HOWEVER, I love Mondays because of Mojo Monday...I always look forward to it because it sort of kick starts my creativity. Then, I look forward to the other days of the week because I have a multitude of other fun challenges like Color Throwdown during the week! Today is no exception! I was actually able to combine two of my favorites: Mojo Monday #91 and Color Throwdown #46. LOVE them both!!

And, I can't believe that I have never had a Lily stamp from Pink Cat Studios...have I been living under a rock? My friend Heather sent me some images, and I couldn't wait to color them. Thank you, Heather. And, I'm sure Pink Cat Studios will thank you because I believe I will be making an order shortly!!

Card Details:
Stamps: Lily at the Beach by Pink Cat Studios; sentiment by Whiff of Joy
Paper: Delicate Dots, So Saffron, Certainly Celery, Brocade Blue and Bashful Blue by Stampin' Up
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: Nesties Scalloped Oval; CM Oval; CB Embossing folder; SU ribbon; MS Butterfly punch

Copics: R00, R20, YG03, YG13, YG23, YG67, E33, RV11, RV34, Y21

It's a Two Challenge Kind of Day-FBW61 and MOJO90

Hello, ladies!! Here I am apologizing again for being so sparse in my posting. Things are starting to settle down a bit, but I still feel buried! Today is another busy day, but I'm hanging in there! We are leaving this Friday morning to drive to Pittsburgh for my husband's family reunion. It will be a quick trip, but Meredith is looking forward to going to play with and meet her cousins! I haven't been stamping as much, but this card got me back in the groove. I have also been coloring a bunch of Magnolia images because I have 7 raining cards to make this month...lots and lots! So, I bet you'll be seeing lots of Magnolia cards!! Anyway, on to the real reason you came!!

Flutter By Wednesday #61 is here!! Our challenge this week is to use a butterfly and/or fairy on a card in conjunction with any sketch of our choosing! I chose this week's Mojo Monday sketch #90. I did take a little creative license with it, but that is the beauty of a sketch...do what you want with it! Go to Danni's blog to see all the creations and post your card through Mr. Linky. We have a featured team member this week, and it is Lelia. She has such beautiful creations on her blog and a kind spirit...please leave her some love! And, the rest of the team, listed on the left side of my blog would truly appreciate your love...they all really knocked it out of the park last week, so I can't wait to visit everyone and see! Wednesdays are kind of like Christmas once a week!!

Card Details:
Stamps: sentiment from Paper Makeup Stamps
Paper: Wisteria by Basic Grey; Bordering Blue and Elegant Eggplant by Stampin' Up
Ink: Elegant Eggplant by Stampin' Up
Accessories: SU Scalloped Circle punch; CM circle cutting system; Bling It by Basic Grey; SU ribbon; Quickutz Butterfly die

That's one classy Butterfly!

Well, it is, isn't it? I had fun with this week's Mojo Monday Sketch (MOJO88 and soamojo) because it was two-fold: a great Monday sketch and a challenge on the Stamping Out Alzheimer's site this week! It is not too late to join, and with a suggested donation to Alzheimer's research for only $5 (payable through paypal) it is well worth it. They have daily prizes, free downloads (digi images, papers, scrap packs, templates, etc) and weeklong challenges worth $25 and up...you simply can't go wrong!

There is actually no stamping on this card...that's unusual for me, but I love it when a card comes together like this! I used old paper, a scrap of ribbon that I took off of something, and a brand new embellishment I found on the clearance aisle! How great is that? Thanks for stopping by today and try to make it over to Stamping Out Alzheimers for all the fun that benefits a very worthy cause!!
Here are the details for you:
Stamps: NONE!!
Paper: DCWV designer paper; Basic Black and Real Red by Stampin' Up
Ink: NONE!!
Accessories: Rhinestone stickers; Red satin ribbon; Butterfly embellishment by Brides magazine (Michaels); Swiss Dots cuttlebug embossing folder; Fiskars 2 inch circle punch; Marvy Uchida Mega scalloped circle punch

Anniversary Mojo

Interesting mix of terms, eh? I couldn't seem to find a snappy title for this one. I colored this image, and then I just knew that I had to use it for an anniversary card for my parents. They are celebrating their 48th wedding anniversary on Wednesday! Can you believe, in the age of disposable anything, they have lasted 48 years? One little pearl of wisdom that my mother always told me was, "I love your dad, but I don't like him every day!" When you really break that down, it just means that you aren't going to get along all the time, but when the basis of the relationship is love, then I think you can plod your way through just about anything. Happy Anniversary, Mom and Dad...I love you!!

This is for the Mojo Monday 87, and I actually did it on Monday...I'm on a roll! Hopefully, I can be as on top of other things (like housework!). And, I did get some awesome news today...I will be going to Copic Certification in Durham, NC at the end of June. I can hardly stand the excitement! Woohoo!!!
Happy Belated Birthday (May 14th) to Cassie Larson, and Happy Birthday (May 18th) to Michelle McDaniel, two of my awesome Flutter By Wednesday DT friends!!
And, please note my sidebar and take a look at a new challenge blog coming from Dawn and Madge called The Next Level challenge blog. You know me, I love challenges! And, they are offering some great blog candy for their launch!!
Card details:
Stamps: First Love (Cutie Pie Kids collection) by DRS Designs; sentiment from Great Greetings by Stampin' Up

Sprout and Butterflies-MOJO86

Wow, two posts in one day!! I actually stayed home today, so I was able to get the Mojo Monday 86 sketch done on Monday! This week's sketch was a nice one, but I did have a little problem with space! Oh well! The image is a new one from The Greeting Farm, and the butterflies are from an older set also by The Greeting Farm.

I did receive my new Paper Makeup Stamps today, and I can't wait to use them on this week's PMS challenge, so hopefully, I'll have that up tomorrow. I'm going out to dinner for a mom's night out, so who knows how tired I'll be!

Mommy's Little Sweetheart (Mojo 85)

I couldn't resist snapping this shot before we left for church this morning. She is quite the little fashionista with a style all her own! She just couldn't wait to put on these newly acquired pink Cowgirl boots (don't even try to call them Cowboy boots, she'll correct you!)! She got many reactions at church this morning, but I just thought she looked so darn cute!! The card below has a stamp that reminds me of my child (a short-haired blond with a big heart!!). Happy Mother's Day!

This card is for this past week's Mojo Monday, and I am completely under the gun to get it posted! I've been incredibly busy this week, and stamping somewhat took a backseat, but my Mother's Day treat today was uninterrupted time in the craft room! Yahoo!! The sketch is Mojo 85, and I was able to use my new Basic Grey Lime Rickey paper! I spent a good amount of time trying to decide which SU colors looked best with it. Here are just some of my picks:
Riding Hood Red
Kiwi Kiss
Tempting Turquoise
Cool Caribbean
Elegant Eggplant
Tangerine Tango
Vintage Violet
Card details:
Stamps: From the Heart by Stampin' Up
Paper: Kiwi Kiss and Riding Hood Red by SU; Lime Rickey by Basic Grey
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black

Thanks a Bunch! MOJO84, CC216

This was a fun card to make...kind of like when all the stars align and everything comes together. Then, it just becomes effortless! Does that ever really happen? I got very close to that feeling with this card. It is my combination of MOJO84 and CC216 (on SCS).

I have to brag a little about my daughter today...she really is growing up. My hubby took her to church solo today, and she behaved so well that all were surprised. Then, I had to take her with me to the stamping and scrapbooking garage sale that our LSS sponsors (because hubby was at the Quail Hollow Championship). When it was very apparent I would need to take her for the 5 hour sale, I had to come up with something fast (pack snacks and toys and drinks). She is always wanting to do a lemonade stand, so we bought cookies and bottled water, and she had a little stand. Let me tell you, that little girl was focused! She was so well-behaved, and it was wonderful! My little entrepreneur!!!!

Card details:
Stamps: Cup of Stuff by The Greeting Farm
Paper: Pink Flamingo, Real Red DSP, Basic Black, Real Red, and Old Olive cardstock by Stampin' Up
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: Labels 4 Nesties; SU Circle punches; Ribbon; Rub ons by Quickutz
Copic Markers: Y02, Y08, E57, E59, R35, R37, B12, B14, R21, E41

Do PMS and Mojo mix well?

They do this week! The Monday PMS challenge PMSMC07 was to use ribbon on your card with a PMS image, and the Mojo Monday sketch #82 was pictured here (minus the sentiment). It was fun this week! I was determined to use my new Labels Three that I ordered from Katie at PMS (Paper Makeup Stamps) on this card, so I had to go on a grander scale and make the card 5 1/2 inch square! Argus with his little teddy fit beautifully on this one! And, guess where I got the awesome patterned paper and ribbon? Target, in the dollar spot, no less! I should be part owner in the Target corporation with how much money I drop in there weekly!

Dawn and I went on a stamping excursion yesterday with our 4 year old girls. We live in Charlotte, and Mooresville (a big Nascar town) is only about 45 minutes to an hour north of us. Well, they have a great scrapbook store and an awesome stamp store within a mile of each other. We went to the Scrap Shack first, and I was able to pick up some 12x12 sheets of some of my favorite Basic Grey paper. I found an awesome butterfly die from Quickkutz on sale! Then, it was off to the Stamper's Alley. We love this store, and we happen to be there on April 15th, and they give their customers a 15% discount on the 15th...who'd a thunk? So, I bought another new Nestie, a pot of Shimmerz and some stamps (like I need more stamps!). Fun day with lunch at Five Guys and a side trip to Tuesday Morning (we hit the jackpot there with scrapbooking paper!).
Sorry, like anyone wants to hear about our excursions, but it was paper crafting related!!
Card details:

Paper: Target DP; Cool Caribbean and Basic Black cardstock by Stampin' Up
Accessories/Tools: Scor-Pal; SU Scalloped punch; EK Success border punch; Nesties Labels Three; Black Brads; Target Ribbon; Lime flower brad; purple rhinestone flower

Mojo and Inspiration on the same day!!

Whoa, when does that ever happen? Well, if you have seen my blog posts before, you know that I love to combine challenges. There are so many great ones out there that I have to combine some in order to be able to create cards. I'd love to be one of those people that can make several cards in one day, but 3 different cards is probably the best I have ever done, and that was a miracle in and of itself! This card is for the Mojo Monday #81 and for the PMS Monday Challenge #6. If you haven't tried these challenges, try them today! The Mojo Monday sketch actually has a prize this week from Verve stamps!

I'm scheduling this post for Friday, but I actually finished this card on Thursday. I'm going to give you the back story! This is the scenario at home after an excruciatingly long day with a rather whiny 4 year old girl (who will remain nameless...LOL!)!
It's 6:10 pm, and my husband walks in the door, puts his stuff down, gives me a hug, and I say, "Honey, it's 6:10 pm, and this mom is officially off duty." I proceeded to climb the stairs to my craft room and barricade myself in the room. I turned on the TV and tuned into some old reruns of NCIS (love that show!) and a little over an hour later, this card emerged! Now, of course, it is a wreck in there, and my dear daughter did pop in to make a card also, but the smell of brownies got her attention. Daddy knows how to bribe both mom and daughter! And, alas, the smell of brownies is calling me, too. My thighs are screaming, "ARE YOU KIDDING ME?" But, the taste buds win every time!
