FBW187 Embossing!

For some reason, I wound up with a similar color scheme today as I did with last week! And, I used the same stamp set! I felt so guilty that this beautiful SU set -- Precious Butterflies -- wasn't getting any love at all!

This week our challenge at Flutter By Wednesday is to use any kind of embossing. Well, I had to use both wet and dry embossing...why not, right? My embossing tool hadn't been used in a while, so "it" was happy to accommodate! I used an old lilac from Stampin' Up for the flourish, a purple glitter embossing powder from Judykins, and a dry embossing template from Cuttlebug for the edge of the Elegant Eggplant (a little harder to see)!

If you would like to join us this week, please feel free to do so! You can upload your cards HERE! Thank you for stopping by today!

Card Details:
Stamps: Precious Butterflies by SU
Paper: DSP 6x6 pack in color by SU; Wisteria Wonder and Elegant Eggplant by SU
Ink: Elegant Eggplant by SU; Versamark for embossing
Accessories: SU ribbon; Cuttlebug embossing border folder; SU punches; Judykins and SU embossing powders

Woodware USA Challenge #40 - Try a New Technique

Hello...it's Monday! What a crazy, busy couple of weeks we have had around here! School starts on Wednesday, and there seems to be more prep in the two weeks before than there is in the first few months. YIKES! However, Meredith is very excited for 1st grade to begin!

We have a great challenge this week at Woodware USA. We want you to try a new technique. I tried to do double embossing at first, and it came out a little wonky, so I was able to covere it with the cameo in the center with the matting. Then, I moved to embossed embossing. It didn't come out exactly the way I had planned, but sometimes that is ok! I like the sparkle on this card! If you would like to join us this week, please visit HERE for more details and to upload your card!

DID YOU KNOW...that Woodware USA has a new fall release? And, they are adorable. From Spooky Tots to Garden Gnomes, you have to check out the wonderful new sets HERE!

Stamps: Elegant Cameos by Woodware USA
Paper: Basic Black and Cherry Cobbler by Stampin' UP

FBW156 Clean and Simple

It's a clean and simple day here at Flutter By Wednesday! Danni challenged us all to make a clean and simple card for challenge #156, and here is my result! If you would like to join us this week, upload your clean and simple look that includes butterflies, fairies or angels HERE.

I actually finally used the Impressibilities from Spellbinders. I have two of them that have never left the packaging. What is wrong with me? Well, the embossing is more subtle than the Cuttlebug, but I really liked the pattern on this one, aptly called "Butterfly." The butterflies are from Sizzix for Stampin' Up, and the stamp is from the Mixed Greetings set by Woodware USA...another one of my favorites! To top it all off, the pink is Melon Mambo by Stampin' Up.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Woodware USA #23 - Punches and/or Die Cuts

This week at Woodware USA our challenge is to use punches and/or die cuts on your card. That should be an easy challenge, right? I can't seem to get enough of all of the shapes that I have. In fact, I think that I reach for my Nestabilities every day!

I was able to use one of my new sets from Woodware USA today, and it is called Fancy Cakes. Weddings are on the brain in my family as my niece prepares for her wedding in September. This is a beautiful set, and I was also able to dust off the embossing powders and use them on my card. Now, there is a technique that I haven't been using lately!

Thanks for stopping by today! If you would like to join the challenge, you can find details and upload your card HERE.

Card Details:
Stamps: Fancy Cakes by Woodware USA
Paper: Sweet Always DSP, Rose Red and Very Vanilla by Stampin' Up
Ink: Blushing Bride by SU; Versamark
Accessories: Pink Embossing powder by SU; Nestabililties; SU organdy ribbon; Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder

Woodware USA Challenge #7 - Anything Goes

Wow, I survived Christmas!! Barely!! We got a little snowy surprise on Christmas night, so Sunday was spent playing in the snow. That is a novelty here in Charlotte, NC, but it is nice when it only lasts a day or two. Having grown up near Buffalo, NY, snow usually lasted from Halloween until Easter, so it was easy to get sick of the white stuff!

Today's challenge at Woodware USA is Anything Goes, and I have chosen to use my set called Birdsong from Woodware USA on my card. I actually used vellum and did embossing on my card--two things that hadn't been used for a long time! We would love for you to join us this week! Remember that if you play along, you will be entered into our monthly drawing to win a Woodware USA set. If you use a Woodware USA set in your creation, you will be given an extra entry. Upload your creation HERE to play along!

Card Details:
Stamps: Birdsong by Woodware USA
Paper: Vellum, Gold Shimmer, and Early Espresso by Stampin' Up
Ink: Versamark
Accessories: Copic markers; Judykins embossing powder; Martha Stewart ribbon; Bow Easy

Running around like a butterfly with its wing cut off...

Alright, bad visual, but that is what I am feeling like, so I thought I would throw in the plug for this week's awesome Flutter By Wednesday challenge. Cathy, one of our very talented design team members, chose this week's challenge to be a color combo--pink and brown. I love this combo, and I tried to keep it strictly those two colors (don't worry, you don't have to do that!!). Just make sure that you include either a butterfly and/or a fairy on your card, then upload to Mr. Linky on Danni's blog, so that we can all see your creation!

I'm still having a hard time finding my way back to crafting. I've been trying to declutter my house, and I think I have also decided it's time to declutter my brain. Is that even possible? Do you ever have that slump where you just don't feel like being creative? I admire the people that plug along and make multiple cards, but I'm a girl who needs to be inspired. I guess my brain is still on vacation.
Card Details:
Stamps: One of a Kind and Priceless by Stampin' Up
Paper: Eva by Basic Grey; Close to Cocoa and Chocolate Chip by Stampin' Up
Ink: Chocolate Chip and Versamark
Accessories: SU brown embossing powder; Nesties Curved Rectangles; SU scalloped circle and oval punches; Fiskars 1 1/2 inch circle punch; SU oval punch; Basic Grey Bling; SU ribbon slide; brown grosgrain ribbon

Christmas in July!!

Just a quick post today...still trying to get back into my stamping groove! I just walk into my craft room and stare at the stuff! YIKES! I hate it when that happens. I've been trying to get the rest of my house in order, so everything else has taken a bit of a back seat! I have also been taking a break from the computer...very little blurfing and commenting, so I am sorry! I'll be better soon!

This card was for my stamp club swap this month, which was a Christmas in July theme! I just love the Snow Swirled set from Stampin' Up. It begs to be embossed, so I unearthed my embossing supplies and went to it!

Card Details:
Stamps: Snow Swirled by Stampin' UP
Paper: Night of Navy, Bashful Blue and Bashful Blue DSP by Stampin' Up
Ink: Silver Encore; Versamark
Accessories: SU Oval and Scalloped Oval punches; SU Navy organdy ribbon; SU Winter White EP
