Woodware USA Challenge #29 - Forgotten Embellishments

Snaps, Snaps, SNAPS!! I have a ton of them, and I have never, not ever, even used one of them...until today! I know that my hoarding, I mean collecting, tendencies go into overdrive with craft items, but this was just ridiculous! I think I was intimidated to use them because I had seen people use them and bend the outside. Well, I actually got out my Crop-a-dile, and I put it on the correct setting, and I did them. Not only did I do the cards for this challenge, but I made this my swap card for my stamp club this month. And, each card used 8 snaps. That is a lot of snaps...I even cleared out all of the yllow ones, and I had to switch to blue. That is why I have two pictures for you today!

If you would like to join us at Woodware USA for this week's forgotten embellishment challenge, please visit HERE for more details and to upload your card!

Card Details:

Stamps: Mixed Greetings by Woodware USA; Beaded Circles Nestie Stamps by StampingScrapping.com

Paper: Cherry Cobbler, Night of Navy, and Basic Black by Stampin' Up; DP by My Mind's Eye

Ink: Cherry Cobbler by SU; Memento Tuxedo Black

Accessories: Snaps by Making Memories; Nestabilities; SU circle punches

FBW156 Clean and Simple

It's a clean and simple day here at Flutter By Wednesday! Danni challenged us all to make a clean and simple card for challenge #156, and here is my result! If you would like to join us this week, upload your clean and simple look that includes butterflies, fairies or angels HERE.

I actually finally used the Impressibilities from Spellbinders. I have two of them that have never left the packaging. What is wrong with me? Well, the embossing is more subtle than the Cuttlebug, but I really liked the pattern on this one, aptly called "Butterfly." The butterflies are from Sizzix for Stampin' Up, and the stamp is from the Mixed Greetings set by Woodware USA...another one of my favorites! To top it all off, the pink is Melon Mambo by Stampin' Up.

Thanks for stopping by today!

I have used two Woodware USA sets -- Jane's Script (MY FAVORITE!!) and It's Spring Time. The paper is from Stampin' Up, and it is Whisper White and Daffodil Delight (wow, it rhymes!). The coloring was minimal with Copics, and the embossing is from Cuttlebug. To join us this week, visit HERE for more details!

Can you say DISASTER?

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, this is my dirty little secret. My craft room is a complete pigsty, lately! I'm trying to get things worked out in there, but I share the space with a crafty, but messy 6 year old. So, it is our mission to get it organized and cleaned up in the next week or so. The small kid table should be in my loft, but it hasn't landed there since we painted...in April. Yikes! Hopefully, these embarrassing photos will spur me on!

The new challenge blog -- Shopping Our Stash is having their kickoff, and everyone is posting pics of their crafting spaces. Well, I'm sure they can handle the good, the bad, and the ugly. I'm hoping to get out of the latter categories!!

Wish me luck!

PTT16 - A fun sketch from Stacy and images from Kenny K!

Welcome to our 16th challenge with Party Time Tuesdays! This week our theme is kids' birthdays, and we had a wonderful sketch to work with from Stacy this week! The image is by our month long sponsor -- Kenny K. I sense some real attitude from the dude on the scooter. What do you think? If you would like to join us this week, please visit HERE for more details and to upload your card.

I actually had to cut my image to make it work for the sketch. It is quite liberating to cut into something that you have taken the time to color. However, it ended up working quite well! Thanks for stopping by today!

Hello Everyone!! I hope you all enjoyed the blackout on Thursday! I was a little frustrated with the lack of Blogger on Thursday because my weekend was so intense that Thursday was going to be my catch up day on here! Um, yeah, that didn't happen! One of our many activities this weekend was our nephew's First Communion! This is the card that I made for him. It is pretty busy, but I think it turned out well. I used the set Christian Celebrations from Woodware USA, and I used the sketch below. I had to take a few liberties with the sketch, but you can follow it generally! I'm 39 today! No, really, I am!

We are having another Paper Pretties Birthday Blog Hop today...for ME!! So, I thought maybe it would be weird if I made a card for, technically, myself! I feel so special to have a blog hop in my honor, especially with creations from the many talented members of our design teams at Paper Pretties!

So, I really am 39, and next year will be the big 4-0. Am I dreading it? Surprisingly, no! In fact, I seem to get more bolder about speaking my mind. Each year is a badge of honor. Wear your age proudly!

FBW154 Anything But a Card!!

Our challenge this week at Flutter By Wednesday is Anything But a Card. If you would like to play along with us this week, please visit HERE for more information. Also, the winner of the Paper Shelter images is listed on the challenge blog!

Ok, I was sure that this would look differently. I'm a firm believer in showcasing just about everything...the good, the bad, and the ugly. Well, this one missed the mark I had set for it, but I'm going to keep it. Let me tell you what I was thinking!

The black paper is the scratch magic paper, and I bought a pack of bookmarks to make and assemble. I had several butterflies that were left over from a shaving cream activity on glossy paper, and I chose three. From there, I decided to use the wooden tool to make the loopy lines for the butterflies. The first looked great, and I added the other two. Well, I thought something was missing, so I decided to add hearts.

Ever get to the point where you have just added too much, and you can't undo it? This is one of those instances! So, that is my crafting journey and faux pas for the day! I hope you will forgive me, but I thought sometimes it is important to share your process! Have an awesome day!

Woodware USA Challenge #26 Wedding and/or Anniversary themed

Hello friends! I'm glad to have you back with me this week for another fun challenge at Woodware USA! Tis the season for wedding and anniversary cards! I can't believe how busy my May and June are shaping up to be, and love is in the air! If you would like to join us this week, just upload your wedding themed or anniversary themed cards HERE. I can't wait to see what you come up with. And, the winner of the Blog Hop blog candy is posted there!

I'm still low on the Photoshop Elements 8 learning curve, but I'm trying! I still can't seem to make my watermark go where I want it, so I've been leaving it off. Right smack dab in the middle of the picture just isn't working for me! Any help out there? I can't seem to find just the right tutorial for it! It's keeping me hopping! Oh well, I'll figure it out somehow. I learned how to save it as a brush (or something like that), but I can't figure out how to get it on the picture. I click on the saved watermark/brush, and it just gives me the tool that looks like a plus sign (+), and nada! I swear that I take 1 step forward and 10 back when I am trying to do this stuff! I thought PSE was supposed to be so awesome! Thanks for listening to me rant!

Card Details:
Stamps: Jane's Script and Sam Snail & Friends by Woodware USA
Paper: Glorious Green and Melon Mambo by Stampin' Up
Ink: Melon Mambo by SU; Memento Tuxedo Black

Paper Pretties Monday Whatnots, Tuesday Edition

2nd post today--please scroll down for Party Time Tuesdays
It's another awesome release from ARTish for Paper Pretties this week! I just love this little guy...his name is Webster, and he looks like he is having the time of his life playing at the old watering hole! Did you have a favorite watering hole growing up? Well, being that I grew up in the country near a creek, we had some fun! But, my grandparents had a cottage on Lake Erie that we spent the summers exploring both the woods and the water! I think about how dirty we would get on those days! I don't think that my own child would appreciate how rustic that really was! Anyway, I digress...

We also have an adorable image of the Tooth Fairy this week that you can find in the Paper Pretties store. If you would like to see all of the other amazing creations from the design team, visit HERE. Thanks for stopping by today!

Card Details:
Stamps: Webster by ARTish for Paper Pretties; sentiment by Paper Pretties
Paper: Bo Bunny and My Mind's Eye DSP, Kraft and Chocolate Chip by Stampin' Up
Ink: Kraft, Soft Sky, and Chocolate Chip by SU; Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: Cloud template; Copic markers; My Minds Eye rick rack; SU border punch

PTT14 - Happy Mother's Day with Kenny K!

Welcome to another week with Party Time Tuesdays! I'm so happy that you stopped by. We have the privilege of being sponsored by Kenny K all month long at Party Time Tuesdays! This week, we were able to work with Super Mom. The challenge is to make a Mother's Day card for this week. If you would like more details and to upload your card, please visit HERE.

I'm not sure where I am on the learning curve of Photoshop Elements, but I'm nowhere near the end! Whoa, things were frustrating yesterday trying to edit photos. In fact, on one photo I was able to get my watermark in the corner, but on this one, it would only go right smack dab in the middle. I will have to search more tutorials to find the answer to this mystery. Why can't programs be easy to figure out? If you know of any great tutorials that pertain to watermarks and papercrafting, let me know in the comments!!
