It's a sketch for Sugar Creek Hollow!!

Welcome to the first ever challenge from Sugar Creek Hollow! It is a wonderful sketch that we were given to follow, and I had a lot of fun with it because it holds so many possibilities! I actually used the Friday Freebie from last week that Tracy so graciously gives away on the Sugar Creek Hollow website.

You don't want to miss Monday, March 1st at Sugar Creek Hollow! There are major freebies with your order--a free digi with every $10 you order. And, this is the most amazing thing about the Grand Opening--
All proceeds from our Grand Opening Sales will be donated to Tree of Life Ministries to help feed the hungry of our city. Won't you join us in making this a GRAND event, and by doing so you are putting food in little children's bellies that may otherwise not have anything to eat. Tracy is very much a part of giving back to her community by giving of not only her money but of her time and energy. I'm truly humbled by her work.
I'd love for you check out what the other talented SCH ladies are up to with this sketch:

Sugar Creek Hollow and Midnight Madness

Just a quick note to let you know that the Grand Opening of Sugar Creek Hollow is coming on March 1st, and there are some amazing surprises and a blog hop coming that day!! The images in my card are both from Sugar Creek Hollow, which is a faith-based digital stamp company that specializes in vintage and primitive images. They are a lot of fun to work with, and I've been able to tap into another side of my creativity.

Today's card is for the Midnight Madness sketch #42 (MMSC42)...a fun sketch that I actually simplified a bit. The papers are from that amazingly inexpensive and huge scrapbooking kit by Cosmo Cricket at Tuesday Morning...very fun!
Got to run for now...a million things to do at the moment!

Spread Your Wings and Fly!

Happy Monday! Happy Monday! Happy monday! happy monday. Who am I kidding? It's Monday; it's cold; it's raining. There is a reason that there is a song titled, "Rainy Days and Mondays." It was especially bittersweet because we had a beautiful day yesterday (high in the upper 60s), and we were outside for much of the day.
However, I'm trying to make the most of it! Today's card is a mixture of challenges with a new set of stamps that I bought on the BST forum on SCS...love that place!

I Found some CUTE new stamps!!

It's a beautiful day here in Charlotte, North Carolina! There is actually sunshine, and it isn't freezing. Even better, I have some new stamps to play with, and I have been having fun with these little cuties! This adorable set of clear stamps is called Fairy Tots by Clear Magic Stamps for WoodwareUSA. Peggy, who owns a local stamp/scrapbook store, had this little set the other night, and I snagged it! I didn't even hesitate! The crazy thing is...the address for Woodware USA is in Charlotte, NC. How did I not know about these little cuties? Luckily, Peggy is going to carry them in her store, Southern Scrapbooks, so I can feed my latest addiction.

I have done this card for a few challenges:

Paper Sundaes #5 - a glittery spring

Belli Challenge #85 - butterflies and/or dragonflies

More from the Weekend Crew Challenge

These two cards are a continuation from Friday's post using the Stampin' Up set, Natural Beauty! The set includes 6 stamps, and with the 4 cards, I was able to use all of the stamps in the set.

Our Weekend Crew challenge this week was to create cards using the same stamp or stamp set and see how different they can be! The top card was a little more labor-intensive because of the cutting, but I find cutting relaxing, so it wasn't a big deal! I had forgotten how much I love this little retired set.

The top card is also for this week's Copic Colour Challenge #51 (which is to use RV23, R29, and B12). I always love it when I have all of the marker colors to be able to participate!! My collection is growing steadily!
Card Details:
Stamps: Natural Beauty by Stampin' Up
Paper: Card One - Euphoria by Basic Grey; Regal Rose and Ballet Blue by Stampin' Up; Card Two - Paris by My Mind's Eye; Kraft and Choc. Chip by Stampin' Up

Accessories: Card One - Copics (RV23, R29, B12, B14, G21, G24); Fiskars 1 1/2 inch punch; SU scalloped circle punch; Card Two - Copics (E51, E55, E57, W00, YR02, E31, E33); EK Success Fleur de Lis border punch; Target ribbon; SU rubons; SU oval and scalloped oval punches; SU wrought iron punch

Quilting with Sugar Creek Hollow - A Sneak Peek

Happy Saturday everyone! We have snow here in Charlotte, NC...can you believe that one? We just didn't want to miss the party with the rest of the US! This has been one wild winter. Doesn't it make you want to hunker down under a nice cozy and comfortable quilt? These wonderful quilt images are from an awesome new digital stamp company that is officially debuting on March 1st. However, you can get in on the ground floor! Hop on over to the Sugar Creek Hollow blog and become a follower. There are images already available for purchase and even some freebies!

Our challenge with these three images was to use them on one card. I used the sentiment on the inside of the card, and I was able to use some scraps inside. The quilt block image is a fun one, and it actually has two names. Coming from a quilting background, I consult my mother for all quilt-related questions. And, she told me that this block is called both Bird of Paradise and 54-40 or Fight. Wow, they always have wonderfully rich names for quilt blocks, and they all have a unique history.

Another wonderful part of this preview...you can buy all three images for $4.99, and if you buy all three by today, you can have two more adorable stamps for free!

My card is also for two challenges:

Color Throwdown #79 - Sage Shadow, Blush Blossom and Riding Hood Red
Mercy's Sketch Challenge (MTSC60) - a sketch

Card Details:
Stamps: Quilt images and sentiment by
Sugar Creek Hollow

Paper: Be Loved by My Mind's Eye; Kraft, Riding Hood Red, and Blush Blossom by Stampin' Up
Ink: computer generated

Accessories: Red Lace by Moda Fabrics; Cream lace by unknown; Copic markers (pic above);

What can you do with one stamp set? The Weekend Crew Challenge

Well, the answer is, A LOT!! If you add some determination and a whole lot of free time!! There is never enough of the latter, but I have quite a bit of the former!! This is a set from Stampin' Up that used to be one of my favorites. Unfortunately, it has felt like Woody from Toy Story and Jessie from Toy Story 2 (just start singing, "When She Loved Me" from Toy Story 2 and we can all weep!).
I think you get the idea...the stamps you once loved are often replaced. This weekend is a renaissance of sorts. This is Natural Beauty from Stampin' Up, and it really is an awesome and versatile set.
Not only did I dust off the set, I hauled out my...gasp...embossing powders!! It was fun, and I have the glitter on my face to prove it!

The Weekend Crew is at it again...we're picking a stamp or stamp set and trying to use it different ways. Try it, you might like it!!
Stamps: Natural Beauty by Stampin' Up
Paper: Card One - Sweet Pea DSP, Old Olive, Rose Red, and Pretty in Pink CS by SU; Card Two - Wisteria by Basic Grey, Lovely Lilac and Basic Black by SU
Ink: Versamark and Palette Noir and Lovely Lilac
Accessories: Card One - Copics (RV21, RV23, RV25, G21, G24); EK Success border punch; SU ribbon; pearls. Card Two - Primas; Judykins Violet Twinkle EP

Teacher Valentine's Day Cards

Today is Meredith's Valentine's Day party for school, and she is so excited to share her cards with her class. We made this card x2 for her preschool teachers. She decorated the inside, complete with scenes where her one teacher is a fairy under a mushroom. I'm telling you, this kid has an active imagination!!

Can you believe that I have two days in a row with huge satin bows? It must be my thing this week! I figure if I keep practicing, the bow will come out right!

This card is also for the Color Throwdown #79 which uses Sage Shadow, Blush Blossom, and Riding Hood Red. Can I tell you...I never use the first two colors? In fact, when I first started buying Stampin' Up almost 5 years ago, I bought the sampler pack of the Soft Subtles paper, and these cards are from those 3 sheets of each color that come in it! Talk about untapped!

This card is also for Cute Card Thursday #99 which has a theme of love this week!!

Card Details:
Stamps: For a Friend by Stampin' Up
Paper: Be Loved by My Mind's Eye; Riding Hood Red, Blush Blossom, and Sage Shadow by Stampin' Up
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: Satin ribbon; SU marker (Sage Shadow); Spica glitter pen; Quickutz nesting heart dies

FBW96 Elegant Butterfly

Happy, happy Wednesday everyone!! Are we really 10 days into the month of February already? Where on earth does the time go? It is Wednesday, and it is definitely Flutter By time here! We are just blown away by all of the response on our new home! We had well over 100 entries for last week's challenge...can you believe it? Well, I can! Who doesn't love butterflies, fairies and angels? This week's challenge is use your butterfly, fairy or angel to convey love. That's it...a simple theme of love this week, but don't forget the butterfly, fairy or angel! That's the essential part. I just love this time of year and the ability to make so many Valentine's Day cards...the colors must speak to me! Link up your card HERE so that we may come and admire your craftsmanship.

I combined my Flutter By Wednesday #96 card with the sketch #125 from Mojo Monday. It was a beautiful sketch this week, and I knew that I wanted to pair this lovely butterfly image from Sugar Creek Hollow in this week's challenge. Please visit the blog here to see this image and many other vintage and primitive digital stamps. I colored the butterfly with my Copic and Spica markers. And, this butterfly image is FREE...just go HERE to snag it! Free is always a good way to try digis...you'll be addicted!!

My Mind's Eye Be Loved Paper Kit

Just a little quick post today!! This is a wonderful line of paper from My Mind's Eye called Be Loved. I made these samples for our local stamp and scrapbooking store in Fort Mill, SC, Southern Scrapbooks. Peggy is the owner, and she has some awesome paper packs, plus she has Copic Ciaos and a refilling staion for the Copic markers.
This is a sample scrapbook page that I made using my little sweetheart, Meredith! These paper kits are awesome, and they are very versatile and economical!

Another Tilda Comin' at Ya!!

Well, can I just say that I struggled with this one? I was going for the look of a room, but it seems like it needs more. BUT, I didn't want to gunk it up too much and lose the effect. Did that make sense? I used the paper, quote, and chipboard frame from the Cosmo Cricket deal at Tuesday Morning...yes, I was able to snag one. Who wouldn't want over 9000 pieces of stuff for $14.99???

Anyway, I loved the two images (rocking chair and the Tilda), so I wanted to do them justice by pairing them with something. My grosgrain ribbon serves as a chair rail for the room and separation of the wallpaper. And, as luck would have it, this is one of my favorite Thoreau quotes, so it was kismet!
I hope you all had a spectacular day. I was able to see my mom today. My parents live 12 hours away, but for two months in the winter, they stay in Myrtle Beach, SC, which is only about 3 1/2 hours away. Well, my mom is a quilter and she has made some quilting friends down South. They take a bus trip to Mary Jos in Gastonia, NC (an incredible fabric store like no other) every year, and we go and meet up with her for lunch and shopping (it's a half hour drive for us!). Meredith was so excited to see her Mimi! Today was fun, and I picked up some awesome ribbon and lace for future cards!
Card Details:
Stamps: unknown Tilda and rocking chair by Magnolia
Paper: Cosmo Cricket DP; Chocolate Chip and Close to Cocoa CS by Stampin' Up
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: chipboard and quote by Cosmo Cricket; SU ribbon; Copic markers; brads

Tilda and Edwin Skating to the Color Throwdown

I guess that I have been rediscovering my Magnolia stamps this week! These were images that I received from someone...not sure who, and I finally put the copics to the paper and came up with the card. The image and the background are so detailed that I didn't want too much detail in the card to distract from it. I did have to dust off the Exacto knife to get into the tiny little curves. The Tilda and Edwin image was separate, and I cut it out and popped it up on the Park image. I think that I was intimidated by these two images at first, but it was fun once I started!

I paired the images with this week's Color Throwdown #78, which was to use Pink Pirouette, Soft Sky and Kraft together...so soft and delicate, like a snowflake!

And, I diligently used scraps to create the card!!

Card Details:
Stamps: Tilda and Edwin skating and Park by Magnolia; More Great Greetings by SU
Paper: Kraft CS, Soft Sky CS, and Pink Pirouette DSP by Stampin' Up
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: Copic markers; EK Success Border punch; SU oval and Scalloped Oval punches; Cuttlebug embossing folder;

Love is in the Chocolates!

I don't know about you, but chocolate is my best friend and my worst enemy at times. However, I love it nonetheless. If I receive a box of chocolates, I have to scope out the caramel ones first. The last ones to be eaten are the cordial cherry ones...YUCK!! In fact, they will get eaten by someone else!

This Magnolia card is another one made from the images that I colored last weekend. It's fun to have an image already to go when you sit down to put a card together. Being that I seem to have more paper than a well-stocked scrapbook store, there is no worries about finding some to "match"! I did, however, use scraps from the Sweet Talk line from K&Company. It's a use your scraps weekend, so dig them out and use them!

This card is for the following challenges:

Roses on Paper #30 - sketch
Stampin' for the Weekend - Valentine's theme

Stamp Something - Love
Cute Card Thursday #98 - spots and dots
Copic Colour Challenge #50 - E18, E42, E77 (which I used on the box of chocolates)
Paper Sundaes #3 - Valentine's theme

Crazy 4 Challenges #23 (C4C23) - Valentine theme

Card Details:
Stamps: Tilda and box of chocolates by Magnolia
Paper: Sweet Talk by K&Company; Chocolate Chip and Sahara Sand by Stampin' Up
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: Copic markers; adhesive ribbon by K&Co; flourish from Cricut Home Decor cart; Sweet Talk stickers by K&C0

Won't You Be Mine?

Happy Friday...it is raining a miserable rain here. I feel like we are going to float away! I did some cleaning on my craft room, but it is by no means great. I get sidetracked and start working on a project, but the good news is...I cleaned up after the project. Baby steps!!

Today's card is an image that I received from my friend Heather...she seriously hooked me up with the Lily and Billy stamps to try. I took many images with me to the beach this past weekend, and I just colored! This is one of those. I wanted to use a few craft store finds on here. The charm says, "Be mine" but you can't see it well in the picture. The two ribbons are from Basic Grey. I usually list my copic marker colors, but I didn't keep very good track of them while I was coloring this weekend. I used the following challenges to showcase the image:

Card Details:

Paper: Bittersweet by Basic Grey; Pink Pirouette and Riding Hood Red by Stampin' Up
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: Copic markers; Basic Grey ribbon; heart charm; rhinestone stickers; EK Sucess border punch; Nestabilities; rosettes

My Craft Room EXPLODED!!

No, seriously, it looks like a bomb went off. I get something cleaned up, and another part of the room becomes a disaster.

So, today is clean up day!!

Anyone else out there cleaning their creative space?

FBW95 Sassy in Jeans!!

Happy, happy Wednesday, Flutter By fans!! It is February, can you believe it? Meredith and I went to Myrtle Beach this past weekend, and the only supplies that I took with us were images and Copic markers. Meredith had a ball using my Copic markers to color images (the ones that I would let her have!!) I was able to finally color this little cutie. Way back over the summer, Cristy Croll designed this stamp especially for Danni and her Flutter By Wednesday challenge. I can't believe that it took me this long to use it! It's a sassy image, and I knew that denim and pink would have to finish it off!
This week's challenge is an open one...just don't forget to use a fairy, butterfly or angel somewhere on your card. LINK YOUR CARD HERE. It has been amazing to see the response to our wonderful Flutter By Wednesday challenge each week! I was remiss in commenting due to our little vacation and lack of internet access, but I promise to visit your creations this week!
My card is also for the following challenges:
Crafty Catz Challenge #17 - sketch HERE

Just a little quick card to share today!! It is cold, rainy and basically miserable here, so I'm longing for spring. I thought this card might cheer me up! Well, it is bright and cheerful, but I am still buried under 3 layers of clothing. Alas, spring will be here soon enough, and I'm sure that we will start complaining about the hot weather...there is no winning!
