It's a Magnolia Weekend!! Boo!!

I know, it's way past Halloween, but I made these cards back in October for the Magnolia-licious Yahoo Groups Raining Cards, and I just never posted them. I was having a blogging dryspell, but I was still making some cards!! I used the designer paper from the Target Dollar spot (love that stuff...especially when it is 75% off!!) The images were swapped images, so I can't remember the names!
Danni is doing another challenge yourself weekend, and the focus is using your unloved Magnolias! So, what are you waiting for...get to it!! Have fun!!

TGF Day: A Hippie and a Bear

My Anyas haven't seen a lot of love lately. My friend's daughter wanted to make a card for her friend's birthday, so she came over and I gave her a little tutorial about coloring. She picked Hippie Anya, and I am embarrassed to say that this little cutie had never seen ink. I colored the image alongside my friend's daughter, and the image sat for a few days while I gathered my ideas. Well, the ideas in my head were a little better than the execution, but I can live with it. The leather is a little cumbersome to work with, but you probably get the idea with where I was going! I love this piece of denim paper, and I have had it for years not knowing how to use it. This was the perfect occasion!

The above card was the little cutie Toby Cub that was a freebie from the CHA relay on TGF's blog. There is so much joy in that little cub's face...it is infectious! I kept the card very simple and almost bare bones. I didn't want to detract from its cuteness! I used this week's sketch on Mercy's blog MTSC58...check it out. I'm always inspired by Mercy's cards!! I thought it only fitting to use her sketch to go with one of the images from the Critter Crew!!

Above is the picture of the Copics I used with the Toby Cub card. Sorry for the scarcity of details today...I'm scheduling 4 posts in a manner of an hour, so my time is tight tonight!

Enjoy and have a wonderful weekend!

The Greeting Farm CHA Relay Days 1 and 2

The Greeting Farm has had a super fun relay race live from CHA this week. It started on Sunday, and I've been having a blast playing with all of the images!! Above is the very handsome Mer Ian. The paper and colors just all came together. I had this paper from Making Memories called Just Chillin' and it was almost a dead on match to SU's Bermuda Bay and Kiwi Kiss. That made me ecstatic when things work out!

This second little darling is named Charlotte, and she is just Sassy with a capital S!! I love her, and she allowed me to finally get over my fear of coloring other skin tones. I used the challenge from Copic Creations (#20) for ethnic skin tones, and away I went!! It was fun, and I was pleased that she came out this well on my first turn with African American skin and hair tones. The paper is an absolute steal that I found at Tuesday Morning...love that place!!

The Bella Love Fest Continues!!

I've been a busy girl today...I may need a drink after today!! I've made 3 cards, and I have the 4th one in the works. Will I make it to 5??? Who knows!! Meredith and I have been busy in the craft room, and she had colored 3 images so far to use, and she made an adorable card that I will post tomorrow!

Danni came up with the idea to use our Bellas this weekend (and she hinted about Magnolias next weekend), and we've been taking her seriously!

Join in on the fun...great way to use some neglected stamps and supplies! I've had this martini charm for I don't know how long, and I finally got to use it!! Yippee!!

The above card is another Bella stamp that I borrowed from my friend Angie. I called her this morning with a crafting emergency (yes, they do exist). For the Paper Sundaes challenge, you needed lace. Well, let me tell you...for a girl who makes cards, scrapbooks, and quilts...I didn't have any lace in this house. None. Nada. Zilch. Until I remembered this paper lace that came with a K&Company paper line. Saved. And, Angie actually had lace if I needed it!

Second Post for today...Danni's Bella Weekend Challenge

Danni inspired a few of us to use our Bella stamps this weekend! I have to admit that they have been collecting dust lately, but I picked up this little cutie when I was at my LSS last week, and I had to play with her and the new Sugar Rush paper from Basic Grey! She is adorable, and I forgot how quickly the coloring goes!! Hehe!! When I saw that Danni also did this sketch, I thought, wow, that's an awesome sketch from CCEE Stampers!!

Happy Saturday morning!! Saturday mornings are what I call my lazy mornings...I sleep in a bit, stay in my pajamas, and I have the house to myself for a couple of hours while Matt and Meredith go out for bagels and such. Peace in the house...love it! I had to finish up a couple of cards that I made yesterday so that I could post them today. A Whiff, A Copic, and a Stamp for the Weekend!!

Happy Thursday evening, y'all!! Methinks you have been seeing a lot of me lately! I guess that my crafty side has been rejuvenated. I can't seem to tear myself away from the craft room, and I have been doing challenges like a crazy woman. They really do tap into things in both my brain and my craft room that I forgot were there!!

The card today is actually for three challenges:

Copic Colour Challenge #48 - G21, B45, R85
Whiff of Joy Challenge #63 - a Whiff of Joy stamp and 3 patterned papers, 2 blings, and 1 flower
Stampin' For the Weekend Fiona's Sketch (seen below)

I actually used a paper pack that I had picked up at Tuesday Morning to do this sketch! Sometimes, I just love those huge packs with all of the coordinating papers, and they seemed to complement the Copics that I used. The best part was that it was a smokin' deal!! That is even better. However, my craft room seems to be filled with smokin' deals...they add up after a while (bows head in shame).

Card Details:
Stamps: Melinda Blowing Kisses by Whiff of Joy
Paper: atd Serendipity (not sure of manufacturer); Chocolate Chip by Stampin' Up
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: Copic markers (pictured above); Basic Grey bling; Prima flower; glitter brad; SU oval and scalloped oval punches; SU rubons; Spica glitter pens

FBW93 Emboss it, Baby!!

It's that time again...Flutter By Wednesday!! Can you believe it has been a week already? This week we are doing embossing, any which kind you would like! Somehow, my embossing gun was MIA, so I had to use my Cuttlebug. I better find that little bugger!! Don't forget to include a butterfly, fairy, and/or angel on your card and link it up HERE. We are really loving our new home, and Danni has been featuring lots of creations from our players. Sometimes it is nice to see your "art" in big lights!! My stamp is a free digi that I downloaded from Mo Manning's group on SNR...where have I been that I didn't know a "new" (or at least new to me) online community existed. It was such an adorable image, and when I saw the butterflies on her kimono, I knew I had to use it! She is a true talent!!

I have entered this card in the Copic Creations Challenge #20 (Ethnic skin tones) also, as I used the following Copic colors to replicate Asian skin: E51, E55, E57.

I finally used Random.org, and the random number out of 51 (I can't believe I had that many comments!!) was 42

My First Paper Sundae Card

My LSS, Southern Scrapbooks, got in the Basic Grey Sugar Rush paper, so of course, I had to RUSH right over there and buy it!! I also had to make swap cards for my stamp club meeting tomorrow night. I can't believe that I am posting this already, but if I ruin the surprise, oh well!! I had fun with this card, and I try to make my swap cards a little less labor-intensive (especially when you have to make 8!!). The sparkle didn't show up much in the photo, but I could never seem to get the right angle! The smaller heart is stamped in Going Gray and colored in with Pink Shimmerz...I still love that stuff! And, this paper, ah, magnifique!! LOVE IT!! It is so fun!!

FBW92 Cute as a Bug

Hello, Flutter By Wednesday fans!! We were absolutely blown away by the response to our move last week!! I had such a good time visiting all of the blogs that participated. Can I just say, "WOW"!! It always amazes me how much talent we have out there!! Today is Flutter By Wednesday #92...how did we get all the way to 92? Our love of all things fluttering really makes it easy! This week, our challenge is an open one...just don't forget to include a butterfly, fairy, or angel on your card. Wouldn't it be a challenge to include all three on one? Anyway, I digress!

Don't you want to know what this lovely butterfly is doing here? It sure is pretty (or purty, depending on where y'all are from)!! Well, in order to find out, you have to go to the Flutter By Wednesday blog to find out. While you are there, read carefully and upload your creation if you have one! Believe me, it is well worth your while!!

I finally caved in to the peer pressure and purchased these fabulous stamps from CC Designs...they are just adorable and fun to color, of course. My card is also for the wonderful sketch (MTSC56) from Mercy HERE. I happened upon another challenge blog called Copic Buzz, and their challenge this week was to used pink and red. Well, isn't that appropriate!

Mommy and Me Monday and a Little Paper Makeup!

Meredith, my 5 year old, has dubbed Mondays "Mommy and Me" days. We try to do the same things, stay in our pajamas as long as possible, make cards, cook, clean...everything (or as much as possible) together. It is one of our free days. This is her last year home before kindergarten, so I really enjoy this time as does she! She loves it when I post her creations on my blog, so I'm going to try to do it every Monday. I love the different things that she comes up with for cards...sometimes, she copies what I am doing, and other times, she strikes out on her own.

My card today is for Makeup for the Weekend #11 from Paper Makeup. I haven't done a challenge from PMS in a while, so I thought it was about time!! I love this little guy, Henry! He is a digi that I purchased and downloaded. I love the way he came out! I used Flower Soft "snow" to accent the edges!

Meredith always uses my PMS stamps...she loves them, and the monsters are her favorite. In fact, she gravitates toward Argus quite a bit! She likes to use my Liquid Applique, so she gave Argus some cool dots on his head, and don't you love her tie-dye effect? She ran this piece through the Cuttlebug all by herself, and she even trimmed the pink piece. She's getting better with the tools all the time. And, yes, I let her use my "special markers" aka Copics. She is really good with them, and I trust her with almost all of my craft supplies!

These are the Copics that I used to color the PMS image, and Meredith took some of the pictures today. I'm telling you, she amazes me at what she can do on the computer and with my camera!! Where do they pick this stuff up?

Card Details:
Stamps: Henry (my card) and Argus with Teddy (Meredith's card) by Paper Makeup Stamps
Paper: Night of Navy CS and DSP by Stampin' Up (my card); Bazzill and Rich Razzleberry CS by SU (Meredith's card)
Ink: Memento on Meredith's card and printer ink on mine
Accessories (my card): Martha Stewart snowflake punch; SU 1/4 inch circle punch; Nestabilities; letter tiles; Flower Soft snow; Copic and spica glitter pens; Glue dots
Accessories (Meredith's card): buttons; Rich Razzleberry ribbon by SU; Candy Cane stripe embossing folder by Cuttlebug; American Girl music note punch

Always on my Mind...you little bug, you!

Hello, ladies!! I trust you all had great weekends!! Mine was somewhat relaxing, and I did get a little crafting time in there! This little guy is a cute little image from Rusty Pickle Digital Delights, and I had a lot of fun coloring him and playing around with the layout of this card. I knew that I wanted to cut him out, so I had to think of a background. I used my brayer to create the look of a pond, and I used a fun little stamp from Savvy Stamps to give me the grassy look. Then, what to do about a sentiment. Well, I cracked up when I found this one...a little play on words because we know how much frogs "love" bugs!

We are in the works of coming up with some fun challenges for you all for the Rusty Pickle Digital Delights...stop on over to the blog because Michelle is always giving something away and adding great new images for sale!

These are the Copic colors that I used...sorry that the Ciaos don't have numbers on the ends of them...I used G94 and G99, I believe!

Card Details:
Stamps: Frog by Rusty Pickle Digital Delights; Grass from Savvy stamps
Paper: Glossy White, Soft Suede, Soft Sky cardstock all by Stampin' Up
Ink: Soft Sky, Blue Bayou, Soft Suede, Old Olive by Stampin' Up

Getrdone Friday!

Not the best grammar in my title, but I think you get the point! I am woefully behind on my scrapbooking! In fact, I started out as a scrapbooker who moved into cardmaking. And, fortunately or unfortunately, I have devoted more time to my cards than my scrapbooks. So, I decided to tap into it a little more. These two pages are actually samples I made for our local stamp store, Southern Scrapbooks, to display and showcase a new paper pack from My Mind's Eye called Ooh La La. It is gorgeous paper, and I also made three cards from the pack, which I will highlight at a little later date.

Details:
Paper: Ooh La La by My Mind's Eye; Kiwi Kiss, Very Vanilla, Pink Pirouette, and Chocolate Chip by Stampin' Up
Accessories: SU border punch; SU Hodgepodge Hardware; Beyond Birthdays Cricute Cartridge; SU satin ribbon
